Larry Winston Watt
On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, Larry Winston Watt, husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, passed away in Libby, Montana, at the age of 79.
Larry was born July 21, 1943, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Ruth and Winston Watt. He grew up on a cattle ranch outside of Ashland, Montana. After finishing elementary school and high school, Larry graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
He worked in the woods for many years as a forester, a fire lookout, a thinning contractor and a logger. In 1984, he opened Watt’s Saw Shop on Highway 2 in Troy, Montana. Larry owned and operated the saw shop for nearly 40 years. He always enjoyed visiting with clients and anyone who just stopped into his shop.
Throughout his life he was active in his community, volunteering for the Chamber of Commerce both as a member and as president. During his life, Larry was especially talented at mechanical endeavors and had a very inventive mind. He had an affinity for motorcycles and tractors.
Some of his favorite times were spent on his motorcycle with his wife June behind him. They would bike around the countryside making wonderful memories.
Larry is missed dearly by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, June and her children William, Katheryn and Jennifer and their children. He was very loved by them all.
Larry is survived by his daughter Jessamyn and her husband Patrick with his grandsons Rowen and Redick of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and his son James and wife Angela with granddaughters Charity, Priscilla and Shaela, of Fairfax, Virginia.
He is survived by his brother Phil and Maureen of Anaconda, Montana, and his sister Alaine and Ed of Surprise, Arizona.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Larry Watt at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22 in the Troy Baptist Church, 725 East Missoula Ave./Hwy 2 in Troy.
