Libby hosting second annual Kootenai Forest Fair
The second annual Kootenai Forest Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Riverfront Park in Libby
It begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
There will be an obstacle course, bingo, raffles, free beer, Smokey the Bear and fun for all ages.
The Kootenai Forest Fair is a celebration of the Kootenai National Forest and an opportunity for the community to learn more about what is happening in the forest and the organizations that work with the forest.
Kootenai National Forest is 2.2 million acres in Northwest Montana. It is rich in opportunity for recreation, timber, minerals, and quiet, wild spaces.
The Kootenai Forest Stakeholders Coalition is a collaborative group that strives to have representation from a variety of stakeholders in the Kootenai National Forest.
They are excited to be hosting this event and look forward to giving the public the chance to provide input and find more information about our incredible forest.
“The Kootenai National Forest is an asset to the communities nestled inside. The forest brings tourists to boost our local economy, gives picturesque hunting and angling opportunities, provides marketable timber, and incredibly wild places to explore. We hope to give back to the forest by sharing information and encouraging positive stewardship of the land,” said Bob Castaneda.
The event provides opportunities for the public to get information on fire safety, climate change, hunting, recreation, logging, bear safety, water safety and conservation from over 25 hosts.
