James Leroy Regh

James Leroy Regh, 84, of Libby, Montana, passed away peacefully at home with family members, on Aug. 24, 2022, after a lengthy battle with heart disease.

He was born on March 4, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined the Air Force in April 1955, serving as a Radar Operator until 1959 when he was honorably released from active duty.

Jim served in Guam and at the Yaak Air Force base. He finished his Air Force duty stationed in the Yaak. This was his introduction to Northwest Montana and the love of his life, Irene.

Jim and Irene wed in 1958, going on to have five children, Cynthia Faith, James Jr., Jonathan, Jeffrey and Jerry.

Jim was a local contractor for over 30 years, building many residential and commercial projects in Libby and the surrounding area.

After retiring in 2003, Jim spent much of his time with family and friends, advising and volunteering his time and resources to help build multiple projects for family, local organizations, and charities.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years Irene, his children – Cynthia Faith Gilbert (Mike), James Regh, Jr. (Patti), Jon Regh (Robin), Jeff Regh (Anne), Jerry Regh, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Jim’s family will hold a private remembrance and memorial.

Arrangements are by the Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby, Montana.
