John Erickson

John Erickson passed away at home on Aug. 31, 2022.

John was born in Sidney, Montana, on Jan. 25, 1944.

His early years were spent working on the farm with his dad.

His family later moved to Troy, Montana, where he attended Troy High School and graduated valedictorian of his class in May 1962.

After he graduated, he entered the U.S. Navy Submariner group where he retired after 22 years of proudly serving the military and his country that he loved so very much.

He served on the George C. Marshall and the USS Holland as well as others.

The day he retired he received the flag that was flown that day on the USS Constitution.

After he retired, he went to work for General Dynamics and later moved back to Troy, Montana. He took a position of mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years and retired.

In 2014 he married his high school sweetheart and moved to Davenport, Washington. He and his wife, Donna, lived happily ever after here and attended Trinity Bible Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter, Janiea Wilson, brother Marvin Schlabs and his wife Marilyn, brother George Erickson and his wife Carmen, brother-in law Larry Mott and his wife Connie and sister-in law Teresa Koehler.

He is also survived by nephews Justin Erickson, Wayne Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Lucus Ballesteroz and nieces Angie Schmidt and Alicia Ballesteroz.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19 at Trinity Bible Fellowship, 1101 First St. Davenport, Washington, with a luncheon to follow. He will then

be taken to the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Medical Lake, Washington, following the luncheon.
