The Cinnabar Foundation and Friends of the Scotchman Peaks Wilderness are continuing their annual fundraising tradition.

The Cinnabar Foundation is offering a 1 to 1 match from now until Oct. 1. Throughout the month of September, any donations made to Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness will receive an equal contribution by the foundation up to $6,000.

“We're grateful to Cinnabar for continuing to match donations,” said FSPW executive director Phil Hough. “It's one of the best times of the year to place a donation, and that money goes a long way.”

There are so many reasons to support the preservation of Scotchman Peaks. Anyone who has stood atop its peaks knows the grandeur of the view. And more profound than that is the understanding that nowhere else on earth is quite like it.

Even if you’ve never trekked up the summit, perhaps you’ve enjoyed the art and stories that come from it. We can all appreciate the clean air and water from a wild backyard free of human influence.

"If we’ve learned anything the last few years, it’s that we all need to slow down and get out into nature with our loved ones," Hough said. "And thanks to the Scotchman Peaks region, that opportunity is just a quick drive away for any North Idaho or Northwest Montana resident.
