Public input sought for Libby Dam Master Plan
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is seeking public input for updating the Libby Dam Master Plan which guides land management and development of recreational, natural and cultural resources associated with the dam.
An open house is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the Ponderosa Room at 952 East Spruce St., Libby.
Attendees will receive information about the revision, schedule and process, and an opportunity to view land-use maps and engage with Corps of Engineers staff.
Key topics to be discussed in the revised Master Plan include revised land use classifications, new natural and recreational resource management objectives, recreation facility needs and special issues such as invasive species management and threatened and endangered species habitat.
During the 30-day public comment period, from Oct. 18 to Nov. 17, 2022, the public is encouraged to submit ideas and comments regarding management of natural and recreational resources that should be included in the Master Plan.
