The Libby Lady Loggers soccer team battled well in a Senior Night, 3-2, loss to Bigfork on Thursday, Oct. 6, at J. Neils Memorial Park.

Libby led 1-0 on a goal by sophomore Morgan Hayes in the 25th minute in the first half.

Bigfork answered a few minutes later and then took a 2-1 lead to halftime after scoring in the ninth minute.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Hayes buried a shot to tie the game at 2-2.

Madison Vincent assisted on one of Hayes’ goals.

The Valkyries kept the pressure up in the latter stage of the game, but keeper Anna Pallister kept the game tied at 2-2.

Bigfork put a shot off the crossbar at the midway point of the second half and Pallister pushed away a rebound shot.

Pallister also made another good stop of a Bigfork shot with a little more than 10 minutes left. Bigfork’s pressure paid off when it scored with 9:38 remaining to claim a 3-2 win.

Pallister and fellow senior Isabella Swanson, along with senior team managers Mackenzie Mills, Cleone Knopfle and Keali Stewart were recognized for their contributions to the program.

Libby concluded its season on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Columbia Falls.
