Revocation sought after Bock allegedly caught with firearm
Authorities are seeking the revocation of a Eureka man’s partially suspended sentence after probation and parole officers found a firearm in his home earlier this year.
Win Davis Bock initially earned a deferred, five-year sentence after pleading guilty to felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs in Lincoln County District Court in January 2016. Multiple violations of the conditions of his release led to authorities to seek a revocation of the deferred sentence in late 2017.
In February 2018, Bock admitted to the violations. In return, the court sentenced him to spend the next five years with the state Department of Corrections with two years suspended. He received credit for 56 days of time served. The court recommended he undergo substance abuse treatment and required him to follow the terms of his release.
But during a random home check on Feb. 10, Bock allegedly admitted to Probation Officer Steve Watson that he had a handgun in his house.
According to a report filed by Watson, Bock indicated the gun was in a bedroom safe. When he looked, Watson found a Walther 9 mm semiautomatic pistol and 34 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. He confiscated the weapon and ammunition, court documents said.
Bock denied the allegations when he appeared in district court on Feb. 28. A hearing on the violations was held last week.
Watson recommended that the court seek the revocation of the suspended portion of Bock’s sentence, a two-year period.
“Te offender is well aware that he may not possess firearms or ammunition as this was an issue when he was initially sentenced,” Watson wrote.
Watson encouraged the court to turn the pistol and ammunition over to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
