Canadian Corvette cruise comes to Libby
Thirty-three Corvettes rolled into Libby recently on the first leg of the 2022 Rocky Mountain Corvette Cruise.
A Canadian group, they crossed the border and drove down the east side of Glacier National Park. With Going-to-the-Sun Road closed, the group decided to take the road less travelled to Eureka and then down Montana 37 to Libby.
The Venture Inn parking lot became an impromptu Corvette car show as they pulled in after a long day.
Rained on all the way down to Kalispell, the local car wash was a must with ‘Vettes 3 deep waiting in line. Cleaned up they rendezvoused with the Igniters Car Club for a meet-n-greet at Fireman’s Park.
Like usual, the area and folks made a good impression. The group was looking forward to having a look and walk on the Swinging Bridge on their way out of town Tuesday.
The group organizer, Paul Maciejowski, said Libby was now on the ‘plan to return to’ list for future tours.
Group members expressed an interest in driving the curves of the highly rated Forest Service Roads on the west side of Lake Koocanusa and possibly a drive through the Yaak.
