Carol Ann Young, 80

Carol Ann (Cripe) Young passed away quietly at home Jan. 1, 2022. She was 80 years old.

Carol was born July 11, 1941, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Ford and Edith Cripe. She graduated Troy High School before attending the University of Montana, where she studied elementary education.

Carol married Arthur A. Young in December 1961. Carol spent the majority of her life living in Troy and after a brief teaching career settled into raising a large family. Carol was a kind and loving spirit, always willing to take in any child or animal in need. She was an amazing storyteller who loved the written word.

Carol is survived by her children, Ford Young, daughter-in-law Amy; Melissa Dirks, Kevin Young, Kendra Young, Mike Blankenship, daughter-in-law Lesa; Amanda Wilson, son-in-law Simon; Calen Williamson, daughter-in-law Vanessa; Justin Young, daughter-in-law Amber; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her nephew, Owen Cripe, and niece, Aubrey Desfosses; sister, Kathy Cripe, and brother, Larry Cripe.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and her parents.
