Richard Hugh Taylor, 83

| February 22, 2022 7:00 AM

Richard Hugh Taylor, 83, went to join his wife Ruth and be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2022, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born June 6, 1938, in Malta to Hugh and Gloria Taylor.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the National Guard. He worked for St. Regis and Champion International. He married Ruth Anne Cox on June 10, 1969.

We cannot say that everyone that knew him loved him, but we can say that those that loved him knew him. He had a laugh that filled a room and he loved a good joke. He loved guns, cars and dogs, and was always going to write a book about it. He loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his father, Hugh; a brother, George; and a sister, Norma Wilson.

Survivors include his mother, Gloria Taylor, and a brother, Roy Taylor, both of Malta; children, Timothy Taylor (Shelly) of Kalispell, Penny Meyer (Forrest) of Troy, Daniel Taylor (Rebecca) of Omak, Wash., Donald Taylor (Tacy) of Pasco, Wash., Robert Taylor (Vicki) of Arkansas, Dawn Braden (Pat) of Post Falls, Idaho, Ray Taylor and Hugh Taylor (Debbie) of Libby, and Jesse Taylor (Renee) of Helena; and 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Feb. 26 at Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby, followed by a graveside service at City of Libby Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.

Instead of gifts, the family is asking you express your love to those you value. Reach out to a friend or loved one. Pay it forward. Live, laugh, love.
