Michael Scott Coon, 38

Michael Scott Coon, 38, of Missoula passed away Feb. 16, 2022, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Michael, better known as “Mick,” was born May 19, 1983, in Libby to Paul Coon and Teresa Huffman. He attended elementary school in Libby and Sandpoint, Idaho. Mick graduated high school a member of Sandpoint’s class of 2001. He was a talented wrestler and loved participating in all things athletic. Upon graduation, he attended Ricks College, where he met Jane Elizabeth Blaisdell of Salt Lake City.

Mick and Jane married on Feb. 7, 2004. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.

Mick was a talented musician and songwriter. He sang and played in many cities and in several bands before heading to Los Angeles to perform.

After his divorce from Jane, he married Annie Nichole Ruen of Sandpoint on Aug. 27, 2009. Their daughter, Fate Marie Coon, was born Nov. 1, 2010.

Mick will always be remembered as incredibly talented, intellectually engaging, passionately caring, fun-loving and freewheeling. He will be remembered as well for the love he gave.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Fate of Sandpoint, Idaho; father, Paul Coon (Laura) of Libby; mother, Teresa Angell (Bryce) of Island Park, Idaho; siblings, Chad Coon (Brooke) of Ammon, Idaho, and Adam Coon (Courtney) of Ogden, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2056 U.S. Hwy 2 W South, Libby, Montana. Friends and acquaintances of Michael and his family are welcome to attend.
