Emogene Ruth Hamlyn
Emogene Ruth Hamlyn was born in Sterling, Idaho, on Jan. 2, 1938, and passed from this life into the next on Jan. 30, 2022.
She was married to Robert Hamlyn on Aug. 26, 1978, and is survived by her husband and the five children they shared between them: Allen and Dale Norris, Jay, Bonnie and Brian Hamlyn. Between all of the children there are 16 grandchildren, more than 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Bob and Jean moved to Libby after both of them retired from Boeing in 1999. Jean was very talented. She enjoyed painting, sewing and ceramics, and loved her family.
Jean grew up in Aberdeen, Idaho, with her parents, Eugene and May Chandler. She had two sisters, Lila and Dorothy, and a brother, Robert, that preceded her in death.
Jean graduated from high school and soon after married her first husband. They had two sons, Allen and Dale Norris.
Jean moved from Idaho to Colorado to California to Washington and finally to Montana. It was while living in Federal Way, Wash., that she came to know Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She shares an eternity with Christ because of that new birth.
Jean met Bob in 1977 at Parents Without Partners in Washington and a romance blossomed that lasted 45 years. Bob and Jean built their dream home on a five acre lot on Luscher Drive. They enjoyed many activities, such as traveling, hunting and eating out as well as going to the senior center and to church.
