On Aug. 3, 2022, at 11:51 p.m., Ronald Bradshaw of Libby, Montana, died at the age of 86.

Ron was born on March 11, 1936, to Orville and Myrtle Bradshaw in Homestead, Montana. He began working at the age of 15 for the Forest Service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961. At the age of 19, he began to work for J. Neils Lumber and was employed there for 38 years until he retired. Ron was the oldest of 13. Many would describe him as the backbone of his family.

Ron met Mary C. Smith in February 1960 on a blind date. They were engaged in March and married on June 24, 1960. They were married for an amazing 61 years.

When he was younger, Ron was active in Boy Scouts. When he got older he enjoyed driving the local senior bus. He was a friend to many and loved his family. He enjoyed Monday morning coffee with his friends.

Ron enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb. He was an amazing carpenter and could build anything. He had the ability to build things from just looking at a single picture. He truly loved woodworking. If you could not find him in his shop or his garden, there was a pretty good chance he was at the kitchen table waiting to beat someone in a game of cribbage.

Ron is preceded in death by his father Orville, mother Myrtle, sisters Donna, Marlene, Mary, Barbara, and Maxine, and brothers Gordon, Cleo, Donny, and Dick and his son Daniel (Boone).

He is survived by his wife Mary, two children, Gordon and his wife Mary and Laurie and her husband Tony, his grandchildren, Cody, Kendra, Scott, Ronnie and his wife Crystal, Danny Jr., Tristan, and his great grandchildren, Riley, Hunter, Beau, Finn, Nina, Lily, R.J. (little Ronnie), and Nova, his brothers Terry and Tom, sister Betty, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron loved talking about his family and was very proud of all of them.

Ron knew the Lord and the Lord knew him. Jesus needed a carpenter assistant and he chose the best.

Please come celebrate the life of Ron Bradshaw with his family at noon Saturday, Sept. 3 at the VFW 114 W. 2nd Street in Libby, Montana, or those who want to join, we will also be meeting at the Milner Lake Cemetery at 4 p.m.
