Dan Hanson
On March 3, 2022, after a fiercely fought battle against Covid, husband, dad and brother Dan Hanson went home to the Lord.
Born January 26, 1948, Dan was the first-born son of Bud and Joyce (Daniel) Hanson. He was raised in Monroe, Wash., where he, by his dad’s side, enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dan worked the woods as a timber faller for most of his adult life, much of that time spent with Hanson Logging.
By his first marriage, Dan became dad to five kids: Budd, Jackie, Dan, Jake and Andrea.
On February 22, 1992, Dan married his forever friend Alyce, adding Nick, Ben, and Shayna to the family.
In 1993, their son Jesse was born. They had long dreamed of living in Montana with visions of the lifestyle, and the hunting and fishing that awaited them.
Dan and Alyce moved to Montana, making Troy their home. Not only did Dan hunt and fish, but he also had a love for riding his Harley. He and Alyce treasured their time together on the bike.
Dan’s love for his family, his charismatic personality, welcoming smile and his heart warming laugh will be greatly missed.
Dan is survived by his wife, Alyce; his children, Budd Hanson, Jackie (John) Schmidt, Daniel (Kimberly) Hanson, Jake Hanson, Andrea (Jacobi) Curtis and Jesse Hanson; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, David Hanson, Tobe (Raymond) Martin, Timi (Dennis) Maloney, and Tabetha (Paul) Carlson.
Dan is preceded in death by his father, Bud Hanson, and his mother, Joyce Daniel.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on July 17 at Roosevelt Park in Troy.
