Lincoln County commissioners approved 23 budget amendments last week, including almost $125,000 in expenses and just over $1.4 million in revenues.

The sums consist of funds that county officials were unaware of at the time of the final budget approval earlier this month.

The largest additional cost the county saw was a SAMSHA grant expense for $40,572. A windfall of little more than $1.2 million in coronavirus relief funds was the largest chunk of unanticipated revenue the county received.

The amendments list three items that officials included in the budget but were left out of the county’s system, according to Wendy Drake, who heads accounting for the county. These funds include $269 in permissive sheriff retirement, $120,499 in permissive medical levy and $37,319 in search and rescue.
