With the snowy season fast approaching, Turner Mountain Ski Area is holding its annual ski swap this weekend.

The sale, which includes deals on clothing and ski and snowboard equipment, will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 8 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 9. Unlike years past, organizers will hold the event at the Plummer Gym at 263 Indian Head Road.

“We have a huge inventory of new and used equipment,” said Bruce Zwang, president of Kootenai Winter Sports Ski Education Foundation.

In addition to gear, skiers can pick up season passes and five-day vouchers on pre-season sale at the swap.

Vendors must register any items they would like to sell from 4 to 7 p.m. at the gym on Oct. 8. Sellers can pick up any clothing or equipment that doesn’t find a buyer from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Organizers charge 15 percent of the price of any item that sells as a handling fee.

Along with the swap, the ski area is seeking ski patrol volunteers. Interested snow sport enthusiasts should attend the group’s fall meeting at 6 p.m., Oct. 13 at the Libby Ambulance Barn.

Turner Mountain Ski Patrol is also soliciting t-shirt designs for their annual fundraiser. Designers must submit their plans by 8 p.m., Oct. 12 via email at turnermountainskipatrol@gmail.com. Participants can also submit their designs at Neumann Foot and Ankle Clinic, 604 California Ave. or care of Halley Parker at Libby Elementary School.

Ski patrol members will vote on the designs at the Oct. 13 meeting.
