Meehan, Twins walk away on Loggers
WHITEFISH — Hayden Meehan drove in five runs and got the win on the mound in the Glacier Twins’ 28-0 victory over Libby in Class A American Legion baseball Wednesday night.
Meehan threw three innings of one-hit ball in relief of Jacob Polumbus, fanning three. He was the second of four Glacier pitchers that scattered two hits and five walks. In contrast Libby’s six pitchers allowed a total of 17 hits and 15 walks, and hit five batters.
The game got away in the fifth and sixth innings, when the Twins (2-1) scored eight and 11 runs.
In the sixth Ethan Austin drew a pair of bases-loaded walks on his way to three RBIs; Taylor Bryan had an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk in the inning and also ended up driving in three.
Steven Andrachick came up with a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single in the sixth as well.
Meehan, meanwhile, had: a 2-run single in a four-run first; an RBI single in the fourth; an RBI grounder in fifth; and a bases-loaded walk in the sixth; Danny Dunn scored five times for Glacier and George Robbins had four runs.
Libby’s hits came from Tucker Masters and Zane Brown.
