Montana Highway Patrol troopers reported a vehicle accident involving an elk near mile marker 62 of U.S. Highway 2.

Suspicious activity
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a series of complaints made against a man staying at a local trailer court.

Probation, parole violation
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies handled a report of an intoxicated woman outside of the courthouse in Libby. Authorities transferred her to a local medical center.

Burglary
A Lewis Loop resident reported a possible ongoing burglary. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies learned that the man had permission to enter the home.
1:13 p.m.
Fraud
A Nevada Avenue resident reported receiving three phone calls from an individual claiming to be from the Social Security Administration.
5:10 p.m.
Criminal trespass
A Mineral Avenue merchant asked to have an individual trespassed from the premises.

Harassment, threat, intimidation
A Snowshoe Lane resident reported suffering continued harassment from a neighbor.

Harassment, threat, intimidation
An individual reported fourth-hand information regarding animal abandonment near Bull Lake Road but was unable to provide much detail. Another woman called to say the original caller was incorrect and attempting to harass her. The animals in question were being taken care of while a family member received medical care.

Suspicious activity
Libby police officers investigated suspicious activity near a local auto body shop.
10:55 a.m.
Animal complaint
A Libby Creek Road told authorities that their deceased neighbor had a dog. The resident had not seen anyone come by to feed the animal.

Fraud
A Terrace View resident reported receiving a scam phone call. She refused to give the caller any information. The person on the other end of the line told her that law enforcement was planning to take her property.

A caller reported animal neglect on Vicks Drive.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia
Employees of a local motel asked Libby police officers to collect a syringe left in a room.

Authorities received word of a dog running loose in the parking lot of a Libby business.

Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a state Highway 37 home for a report of an ongoing dispute between a man and a woman. The argument had turned briefly physical, but the woman then left the scene.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to Lewis Loop for a report of two people standing outside of a home yelling at the resident.

Libby police officers warned a motorist for being in the park after dark.

A West Larch Street resident reported a transformer explosion.

Public safety
Libby police officers headed to a local supermarket after a tipster saw a man wanted by authorities in line at the store’s pharmacy drive-thru. Officers caught up with the man, verbally trespassed him from the store and advised him of the remaining, pending issues.

Firearms
A student told Libby police officers that a classmate had threatened to bring a firearm to school.

Theft
A renter told authorities that their landlord was holding their sled in lieu of payment for money owed.

Partner or family member assault
A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported a partner or family member assault that occurred the day prior.

A gas station attendant told Libby police officers that a motorist in a U-Haul drove off without paying for fuel. Officers caught up with the motorist on Mineral Avenue. He agreed to return to the gas station and pay for the fuel.

Public safety
A resident told authorities that a snowplow sprayed his vehicle while passing it. The rocks kicked up by the plow caused damage to the vehicle.

Suspicious person
Libby police officers responded to Pioneer Park for a report of a man trying to coerce a juvenile into his vehicle. The juvenile ran from the man.

Criminal mischief
A Three Corners Road resident told authorities that children vandalized their truck.

Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a Vanderwood Avenue home after a mother asked for help in removing her daughter from an allegedly abusive situation. The mother told authorities that her daughter had sent several messages over the past couple of hours. Deputies made contact with the younger woman, but she wanted to stay at the home.

Public assistance
A Rainbow Lane resident told authorities her husband was overdue. He went to meet a food truck several hours ago. She called back about 6:14 p.m. to report that her husband had returned.

Public assistance
A Lodgepole Way resident asked for help in getting personal paperwork and a social security number from their parents. They were referred to the Social Security Administration.
6:29 p.m.
Suspicious activity
A property manager told authorities that a man entered the Vicks Drive home of a woman who has been gone for several days. A neighbor also reported hearing hammering from inside the home. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered that the woman had returned home.

Harassment, threat, intimidation
A Rustic Avenue resident told authorities that a neighbor was yelling threats at him.

Traffic stop
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Clifford McQueen on driving under the influence and open container charges following a traffic stop near the parking lot of a local lodging house.
Feb. 19
2:29 a.m.
Animal complaint
A Vicks Drive resident reported dogs barking outside. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies did not hear any noise.
6:45 a.m.
Assault
Lincoln County Detention Center personnel reported an incident between two inmates. One claimed it got physical and asked to speak with a sheriff’s deputy.

Civil complaint
A woman asked for advice on a civil issue. Her ex-partner has keys to a jointly owned home and she wanted to have the locks changed.
4:42 p.m.
Traffic accident
A forklift damaged a fence after wrecking near Truss Road.
6:12 p.m.
Public safety
An individual reported coming across a disabled vehicle near Yaak Hill. When they asked if the motorist needed any help, the man became angry. He was about 20 and had a teenage girl in the vehicle. Responding Montana Highway Patrol troopers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Criminal mischief
A West 2nd Street Extension resident told authorities that a man took the keys to her vehicle and is refusing to return them to her.

Suspicious activity
A Spencer Hill resident reported a motorist revving the engine of their vehicle, spinning tires and drifting through corners.

Theft
A Mineral Avenue resident reported the theft of his pills after he had a friend stay with him.

Criminal mischief
A Hummingbird Lane resident awoke to find that a vehicle had struck their mailbox during the night.

Traffic accident
First responders headed to Door Skeels Road for a report of a four-wheeler rolling over near Bull Lake.
6:50 p.m.
Traffic violation
A Rustic Avenue resident told authorities that a motorist in his neighborhood has been speeding and peeling out all day.
9:17 p.m.
Disturbance
Libby police officers headed to Commerce Way for a report of a disturbance. The caller then told authorities to disregard the report. Arriving officers determined there was no assault.

Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to an area bar for a report of a male patron refusing to leave. The man allegedly was threatening to damage property. While en route, the caller updated authorities, telling them that the man’s mother had picked him up from the bar. Deputies met the man at his home and cited him for being disorderly.

Assault
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies were summoned to an area bar after an intoxicated man reported being assaulted by a woman.
7:29 a.m.
Sex crime
A man came to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office to speak with deputies about a sex crime he was accused of committing.

Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews extinguished a trailer fire near Farm to Market Road.
6:47 p.m.
Traffic accident
First responders headed to U.S. Highway 2 in Libby for a two-vehicle accident.

Suspicious activity
Eureka police officers investigated a reported assault near state Highway 37.

Suspicious vehicle
A Smith Drive resident told authorities that a vehicle was driving by his home with another vehicle apparently following it. The vehicle later became stuck.
