Feb. 1

1:14 a.m.

Suspicious vehicle.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies asked a motorist at J. Neils Memorial Park to move along.

3:08 a.m.

Disturbance

A Libby apartment dweller told police officers that a couple had broken into her home. The pair left and went to a different apartment, she told authorities. Responding Libby police officers cited at least one individual and served a no trespass order.

3:31 a.m.

Suspicious activity

A Sheldon Lane resident told authorities his Facebook account potentially was hacked. A woman was threatening to blackmail him. Dispatchers helped the man file a complaint with the tech giant.

11:09 a.m.

Public assistance

Authorities launched a search for an 11-year-old who ran away from their grandmother.

11:38 a.m.

Probation violation

Cory James was arrested on an alleged probation violation.

12:07 p.m.

Disturbance

A caller reported an argument earlier in the day with an ex-employee.

1:21 p.m.

Public safety

A man concerned about a woman flagged a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy down near the Flat Iron trailhead. She had not returned to her vehicle, the man told authorities. They later located the woman.

9:04 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Rivers Edge Court for a welfare check after an individual saw a man verbally abusing another woman. Deputies made contact with the woman, who was OK and did not want to leave the area.

Feb. 2

12:55 a.m.

Public assistance

Libby police officers checked in with a motorist after spotting a vehicle on the side of the road with running lights. The motorist was warming up the vehicle.

8:23 a.m.

Assault

An individual reported an assault that occurred earlier in the day.

9:59 a.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated the disappearance of a family that left a rental on Lower Quartz Creek about three months prior. The individual who requested the welfare check told authorities that the family left clothing and vehicles behind.

10:56 a.m.

Fraud

A Pine Court resident reported possible identity theft. Someone opened up a bank account in her name, she told authorities.

11:20 a.m.

Criminal mischief

Vandalism was spotted at the basketball courts at J. Neils Memorial Park.

11:51 a.m.

Public assistance

Crews responded to a report of boulders in the roadway on U.S. Highway 2 just west of the Kootenai Falls.

12:45 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Lincoln County Attorney’s Office for a report of a man pounding on the door.

2:14 p.m.

Civil complaint

An Airstrip Road resident told authorities that her son and daughter-in-law were staying with her. They had overstayed their welcome.

4:43 p.m.

Theft

An Alpine Road resident accused her daughter of entering her home and stealing money.

5:53 p.m.

Public safety

A 911 caller told authorities that when he passed a slow moving vehicle on U.S. Highway 2, the other motorist flashed a firearm at him.

6:51 p.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers headed to a local medical center after relatives of a patient became disruptive. Officers helped ease tensions.

7:40 p.m.

Civil complaint

A tenant asked to file a complaint against their landlord for entering their home without permission.

9:01 p.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a possible suspicious person report near a local gas station.

Feb. 3

1:51 a.m.

Suspicious person

A Parkway Drive resident reported a woman for yelling and screaming on their property. The woman left, but was not dressed for the weather. Authorities were unable to locate the woman.

7:24 a.m.

Theft

A manager reported that a former employee stole goods from the U.S. Highway 2 business after being let go. The ex-employee refused to give the stolen items back.

8:56 a.m.

Public assistance

Libby police officers cited a man for trespassing after responding to reports of a heavily intoxicated male wandering around near Lincoln County Justice Court. The man was struggling to walk, leaving public employees concerned. Officers caught up with the man at a nearby casino where they learned he had a court date that day.

10:26 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Sheldon Flats resident reported hearing dogs barking.

2:02 p.m.

Fraud

A Terrace View Road resident told authorities that an individual had stolen their personal information and was using it to get prescription drugs.

4:02 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies got a call from an out-of-county woman, who sounded heavily intoxicated, reporting a murder a decade ago. Authorities were unable to make much sense of the information. They contacted authorities in her home county to perform a welfare check.

4:07 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Dispatchers in Troy referred a man reporting receiving threats from another individual to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The victim said the other man threatened to kill his dog.

4:47 p.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Drugs allegedly were found at a local retailer.

6:47 p.m.

Theft

Libby police officers trespassed a man after he allegedly picked up an air compressor from a Nevada Avenue home without permission. A neighbor of the victim reported the incident to law enforcement.

10:35 p.m.

Civil complaint

A Minnesota Avenue resident told Libby police officers that a woman had absconded with his vehicle. He had loaned it to her for several days, but requested that the car be returned on a Saturday. Saturday came and went, the man said, as did Sunday and Monday.

Feb. 4

12:17 a.m.

Public safety

Libby police officers responded to Mineral Avenue for a report of two vehicles racing in the area.

1:24 a.m.

Motor vehicle theft

Libby police officers recovered a stolen motor vehicle.

1:28 a.m.

Motor vehicle theft

A woman reported the theft of her Dodge Dakota from her driveway. Asked for an address, the woman swore and hung up. Repeated attempts to call her back failed.
