1:31 a.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies unsuccessfully searched for a woman who reportedly was walking in the middle of U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker five. Authorities spoke with a bystander who said a motorist had picked up the woman. That vehicle was headed westbound. Deputies recovered a small jacket in the road.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers responded to a local laudromat for a report of a loiterer.

9:34 a.m.

Criminal mischief

A caller told authorities that her vehicle had gotten stuck north of Bear Creek overnight. When she returned to the vehicle in the morning, she found that all the windows were smashed.

9:41 a.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a drug case.

11:04 a.m.

Criminal trespass

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to a church in Troy after a man trespassed from the property was spotted peering into the windows. The suspect left before authorities arrived on scene. He was last scene heading south on state Highway 56 toward Sanders County.

12:55 p.m.

Scam

A Utah Avenue resident reported receiving multiple scam letters.

7:09 p.m.

Traffic stop

A motorist was cited for tossing a lit material from their vehicle near mile marker 17 of state Highway 56.

8:08 p.m.

Disturbance

A Pioneer Road resident asked for law enforcement help in removing a woman from his home.

Disturbance

Libby police officers responded to a local apartment complex after a man allegedly began chasing a woman around the property. The couple was involved in an argument. They later left in a vehicle, but returned before long. Offices eventually made contact with the pair.

11:23 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Granite Creek Road resident asked to speak with law enforcement about being both slandered and harassed.

Jan. 27

7:10 a.m.

Disturbance

An Old Highway 2 resident reported a relative for threatening her.

10:49 a.m.

Theft

A county resident asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy regarding a theft.

1:12 p.m.

Criminal trespass

A Milnor Lake Road resident reported a man with a no trespass order against him came onto their property. The man was later cited for trespass.

1:44 p.m.

Public safety

Authorities received a report of an individual cutting trees to close to state Highway 37. A Montana Highway Patrol trooper agreed to check out the situation.

3:20 p.m.

Fish and game

A dead eagle was discovered near U.S. Highway 2.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Christopher Willet on a criminal endangerment charge after responding to a dispute over property on West 2nd Street.

7:41 p.m.

Theft

The parent of a Libby Middle High School student reported the theft of her son’s phone from the building.

8:35 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Nicholas Price Bertram on a partner or family member assault charge after responding to a disturbance on Pioneer Road. The call began with a man asking for law enforcement help in removing his ex-girlfriend from the property. A second caller told authorities that the man was intoxicated and destroying property.

Fish and game

A U.S. Highway 2 resident told authorities that a mountain lion was stalking his livestock.

9:23 a.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers arranged for a woman to stay at a local hotel after responding to a disturbance on Highwood Drive. Two individuals there asked for law enforcement to mediate a dispute after one asked the other to leave. The departing woman had no place to go. Officers took her first to an automated teller machine and then to a lodging house.

10:11 a.m.

Theft

A caller reported the theft of about $300 in horse care items from Pipe Creek Road. A camera caught footage of a man and dog on the property.

1 p.m.

Civil complaint

A caller requested a civil standby for a friend getting kicked out of a home.

1:06 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A Kate Lane resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked on private property.

1:10 p.m.

Animal complaint

A Park Street resident reported aggressive dogs in the neighborhood.

2:10 p.m.

Criminal mischief

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a vehicle driving through the backyard of a Vicks Drive resident. The owner of the vehicle was unknown, but it was frequently seen parked at a neighbor’s house.

Disturbance

Libby police officers responded to a report of neighbors yelling on Reese Court.

7:34 a.m.

Public assistance

A West Balsam Road resident asked Libby police officers to track down the motorist who uses high beams every morning between 7:15 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. The light was disturbing her.

8:50 a.m.

Theft

Libby police officers arrested Michael Joseph Pate on a theft charge after responding to a shoplifting call at a local grocery store.

10:40 a.m.

Criminal trespass

Libby police officers investigated a trespassing case at a local supermarket.

12:18 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to a local business for a report of a disturbance over a face mask. The suspect committed property damage before leaving.

12:30 p.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers headed into the county courthouse building for a report of an individual acting strangely and making odd comments.

2:42 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated suspicious activity near Therriault Creek.

3:14 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Granite Creek Road resident told authorities that her estranged husband was harassing her with phone calls.

3:35 p.m.

Public assistance

A 911 caller asked law enforcement to check in on a woman lying atop the stairs of a local apartment complex. Responding officers determined the woman was intoxicated and took her home.

3:39 p.m.

Civil complaint

A U.S. Highway 2 resident asked for help regarding a woman staying at their home. The resident wanted the woman to move on.

3:41 p.m.

Civil complaint

An individual asked for advice regarding the romantic life of the mother of his child. He did not approve of her significant other.

9:08 p.m.

Littering

An individual reported finding garbage left near Sophie Lake Road, including materials identifying at least one person as a possible owner of the trash.

9:35 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A Doonan Mountain Road property owner reported spotting a motorist pulling onto the land encompassing his secondary residence on camera.

9:47 p.m.

Traffic stop

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jason Boothman on a driving under the influence charge after a traffic stop near the intersection of 3rd Street and Louisiana Avenue.

9:50 p.m.

Public assistance

A West 3rd Street resident reported a noisy neighbor to the Libby Police Department.

11:02 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies gave a woman a ride to a local lodging house after an argument with her boyfriend escalated to include his mother. The mother pushed her up against a wall and then threw her belongings out of the house.
