Two fires in Evergreen thought to be set intentionally

Two fires reported early Monday morning in the Evergreen area both appear to have been intentionally set, according to a press release from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after midnight Monday, deputies responded to a fire on Bando Lane. An initial investigation revealed the fire likely was started on purpose and spread through some grass in the area. Evergreen Fire was able to quickly put the fire out.

Then at approximately 1:06 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to another suspicious fire at 1282 U.S. 2 East in Evergreen. This fire also appeared to have been intentionally set and caught a residential apartment complex on fire, the press release stated. Deputies were able to evacuate the residence and Evergreen Fire extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
