Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office personnel served a warrant at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

Harassment, threat, intimidation
An Evans Lane resident reported feeling unsafe in the wake of ongoing problems with a neighbor. He asked to speak with law enforcement personnel.

Public safety
Libby police officers investigated what eventually turned out to be an unfounded report of an individual driving under the influence.
7:36 p.m.
Suspicious vehicle
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to mile marker 61 of U.S. Highway 2 after receiving a report of a motorist possibly stealing mail. After catching up with the vehicle, deputies learned that the motorist takes medication that causes drowsiness. The driver was stopping to take catnaps.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia
Libby police officers got a tip regarding an alleged ongoing drug deal at a local gas station. Officers investigated, but were unable to locate the individuals in question.

12:41 a.m.
Suspicious activity
A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported seeing a man siphoning gas from vehicles near her home. She told authorities that the behavior had gone on for the prior two weeks.
10:05 a.m.
Suspicious vehicle
Libby police officers investigated a possibly abandoned vehicle left near a local business. Officers contacted the owner, who agreed to move it.
11:14 a.m.
Animal complaint
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Minnesota Avenue for a report of an aggressive dog.
12:10 p.m.
Missing person
A Bull Lake Road resident reported her son as a runaway. The boy had been staying with friends for several weeks, but opted to leave recently. The juvenile’s temporary guardian in Libby told authorities that the boy was likely still in town, just staying at another friend’s home.
1:39 p.m.
Scam
A Shalom Drive resident told authorities that they suspected a scam artist had taken advantage of their disabled daughter. They believed their daughter might have divulged her Social Security number.
4:15 p.m.
Criminal mischief
A Spencer Hill resident reported a tree destroyed by an individual moving a structure.
5:26 p.m.
Traffic accident
First responders headed to a truck rollover along U.S. Highway 2 between Libby and Troy. No injuries were reported.
6:27 p.m.
Hazmat, environmental
A Granite Avenue resident told authorities that it smelled like someone was burning trash.
7:47 p.m.
Traffic accident
First responders arrived at a Granite Avenue home after a vehicle allegedly came flying into the driveway and struck the resident’s vehicle. The accident did not cause any obvious damage. They were unable to locate the offending motorist.
9:46 p.m.
Suspicious activity
A Mary Lane resident told authorities that a motorist pulled into her driveway, got out and walked around before departing. She later called back and said the motorist was a deliveryman.

Scam
A man told authorities that hackers had struck his email and social media accounts.

Traffic accident
Libby police officers responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Main Avenue and Cedar Street.
5:05 p.m.
Traffic stop
A possible drunk driving case turned into a high-speed chase along U.S. Highway 2. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported that a male motorist hit speeds of 105 miles per hour while fleeing westbound toward the Idaho border. Spikes were deployed, but apparently ineffective. Authorities called off the pursuit after the motorist crossed into Boundary County. Officials in Idaho were alerted.
5:58 p.m.
Public assistance
A motorist called 911 and told dispatchers that she was out of gasoline and blamed the county for the situation. She demanded a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrive to settle the matter. Responding authorities deemed the situation unfounded.
8:47 p.m.
Firearms
A McMillan Mountain Road resident heard gunshots near Libby Creek. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies did not find anything out of the ordinary.

Public safety
Libby police officers gave an intoxicated man a ride home after he was found walking in the middle of the road near the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Idaho Avenue.

Traffic accident
First responders headed to mile marker two of Lake Creek Road for a report of a multi-vehicle accident.
12:48 p.m.
Theft
A My Road resident reported the overnight theft of a van. A 911 caller later told authorities that he was behind the stolen van. The vehicle was later returned to its owner.
1:07 p.m.
Drugs, drug paraphernalia
An individual reported coming across a needle in the restroom of a gas station.
1:31 p.m.
Traffic violation
An anonymous caller reported a white car traveling in the wrong lane of traffic along U.S. Highway 2.

City ordinance violation
Libby police officers warned a motorist about a parking violation on Dakota Avenue.

Sex crime
An individual reported inappropriate touching between siblings.

A state Highway 37 resident reported hearing shots fired near her home.

A Luscher Drive resident asked to speak with law enforcement regarding individuals getting onto her property.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to a stretch of area railroad after receiving a report of a man and woman walking along the tracks. The couple had begun yelling at one another.
