12:29 a.m.

Libby police officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near the City of Libby Cemetery. The motorist agreed to move along.

7:58 a.m.

Fire

Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews handled a report of a chimney fire near Spencer Road.

9:47 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

An individual reported suffering harassment at the hands of a neighbor over a civil matter.

1:16 p.m.

Theft

Libby police officers investigated the theft of a tool box from a vehicle parked along 2nd Street.

3:06 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a local big box retailer for a report of a woman rocking back and forth while sitting outside the store.

5:17 p.m.

Fish and game

Officials received a report of a deer stuck in the batting cages at J. Neils Memorial Park. The deer was later freed.

6:51 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller told authorities that they had noticed two dogs left outside of a local lodging house for more than 30 minutes. Responding animal control officers made contact with the owner.

6:55 p.m.

Theft

A Terrace View Road resident reported salvaged power poles stolen from his property.

8:03 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers scoured town for the source of several loud noises after receiving a phone call reporting gunshots. A second person indicated the noise sounded like transformers going bad. Investigators later learned several individuals were shooting off fireworks near 2nd Street Extension.

9:14 p.m.

Minor in possession

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to Southside Road for a report of an underage party involving alcohol.

9:17 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies took a woman to her daughter’s home after receiving a request for a welfare check. Authorities took the request from the daughter, who reported receiving videos of her mother’s housemate and male companion berating the older woman.

Jan. 23

2:25 a.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person walking around the exterior of a storage facility.

9:30 a.m.

Agency assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies joined with U.S. Border Patrol, Eureka Police Department and other area agencies in trying to stop a vehicle thought to contain several immigrants thought to have crossed the border illegally.

9:59 a.m.

Theft

Libby police officers investigated a shoplifting case at a local grocery store.

12:07 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked on her property near U.S. Highway 2.

2:37 p.m.

Fire

Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to semi-trailer fire. One person at the scene had an active warrant out for their arrest. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Henry Wayne Bailey after authorities in Florida offered to extradite him.

4:03 p.m.

Civil complaint

A Bethal Drive resident told authorities that his ex partner had stolen a diamond ring.

8:51 p.m.

Suspicious person

A Bull Lake Road resident had a man come onto his property and act strangely. The resident called authorities and told them he suspected the man was under the influence. The odd fellow was last seen headed toward U.S. Highway 2 in a car.

9:38 p.m.

Traffic violation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies warned a motorist for an illegal turn. Authorities determined he was the man acting strangely on the property of a Bull Lake Road resident. He was not under the influence, authorities concluded.

11:36 p.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched for a suspected prowler on Mary Lane. A resident reported an individual setting off car alarms and then ducking behind the wood shed. Deputies were unable to locate anyone.

Jan. 24

1:22 a.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Three Corner Road at the request of a resident bothered by a neighbor chopping wood. Deputies did not find anyone chopping wood.

3:20 a.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers sent three juveniles to their grandparents’ home after catching them out near the intersection of 5th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

12:20 p.m.

Theft

A Glendora Avenue resident told authorities that someone had stolen his dog from his home the day prior.

7:18 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies split up a feuding family after responding to a disturbance call on Granite Creek Road.

8:57 p.m.

Missing person

A Mountain View Trailer Park resident reported her 6-year-old daughter missing after she failed to return from a day of skiing. The girl was found soon after.

11:03 p.m.

Public assistance

A Spencer Road resident reported hearing a loud explosion. His street subsequently went dark. Dispatchers arranged for a utility crew to head to the scene.

Jan. 25

8:55 a.m.

Fish and game

Authorities received a report of an injured golden eagle near mile marker 53 of U.S. Highway 2.

12:17 p.m.

Civil complaint

A man told authorities that he signed a contract with a local lodging house and employees there were now demanding he pay them.

1:03 p.m.

Public assistance

A Vanderwood Road man requested law enforcement help in kicking his girlfriend out. He told dispatchers that the woman easily loses her temper.

1:55 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A caller reported finding an abandoned vehicle in the woods near Lost Treasure Road.

7:30 p.m.

Public safety

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies warned a motorist for driving without his glasses after responding to a possible driving under the influence report near mile marker 10 of state Highway 37.

8:36 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A Swede Mountain Road resident reported spotting someone shining a green laser at his home.

10:48 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

Responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Louisiana Avenue, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined in belonged to a woman cleaning offices.
