Dennis Jesse Shelley

| February 26, 2021 7:00 AM

Dennis Jesse Shelley of Chehalis, Wash., left his earthly body Feb. 19, 2021. Dennis was born on Oct. 2, 1953, in Whitefish to Jesse and Marion (Berntson) Shelley.

After the flooding of old Rexford, Dennis moved with his family to Troy, where he graduated from Troy High School and met the love of his life, Cindy (Cummings). The two wed Feb. 12, 1972, and settled down to raise their family, first in Libby and then in Troy.

Dennis made a career of welding and was well known for his artistry as well as his ability to fix the unfixable. Dennis enjoyed playing guitar, softball and hunting in his free time. Even as illness took over, he continued to play guitar with friends, family and band mates.

His parents, Jesse and Marion; his sisters, Lorraine, Mavis (Potter), Grace (Bock) and Rose (Countryman); his brother, Wayne; and many other relatives precede Dennis in death.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Cindy, as well as his children, Jenifer (Dan) McLuskie, Sam, Kyle (Heidi) and Kaylee (Travis) Remer. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Alyx McLuskie, Hunter (Luis) Acosta, Madison Remer and Logan Remer. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and cousins as well as friends he cared for like family.

A service will be held Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. at The Adna Grange, 132 Dieckman Road, Chehalis, WA, 98532.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local school district’s music programs, as we know that Dennis’ love for music started as a child. He would want to see other children have music in their lives.
