Traffic stop
Libby police officers cited a motorist for passing a school bus on U.S. Highway 2.

Suspicious activity
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person near Koocanusa Trail.
2:05 p.m.
Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Elijah Drive for a report of a disturbance. A woman told authorities that she was trying to leave the property and a man was throwing items around and trying to physically engage her. So far the argument remained just that. Simultaneously, authorities received a 911 call from the man, who claimed he was being attacked “not physically, but emotionally.” The man left the scene after deputies arrived.

A man phoned 911 to ask for the number for the grocery store.
3:06 p.m.
Suspicious person
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to the Heritage Museum for a report of a man inside the gated area.
3:13 p.m.
Disturbance
A caller asked for intervention by law enforcement after a contractor broke their agreement and now refused to exit the property. The caller told dispatchers that he was afraid of the individual and wanted Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies to ask the man to leave.
8:51 p.m.
Harassment, threat, intimidation
An Elijah Road resident reported an escalating disagreement with a neighbor. The other individual was leaving ominous messages on voice mail threatening to eliminate people. Dispatchers received a second call not long after regarding the same situation.
9:59 p.m.
Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to Elijah Drive after receiving a report of a disturbance. Responding deputies determined that the individuals involved were just irritating one another.
Jan. 20
5:31 a.m.
Sex crime
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated allegations of a sex crime.
7:01 a.m.
Suspicious vehicle
Libby police officers checked in on a suspicious vehicle parked near the City of Libby Cemetery. They discovered a driver trying to get some sleep before passing through town.
11:55 a.m.
Public safety
A motorist reported another driver for trying to force him off the road near Farm to Market Road.
1:08 p.m.
Assault
An assault on a peace officer was reported at the Lincoln County Detention Center. No one was injured.
1:24 p.m.
Suspicious activity
A man reported receiving multiple threats. He was the victim of vandalism as well and thought he had survived attempted murder.
2:14 p.m.
Suspicious vehicle
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Pine Creek Road. One of the deputies knew the property owner and determined the vehicle belonged on the site.

Fish and game
A doe was found in Libby with a bear trap on its leg.
3:05 p.m.
Harassment, threat, intimidation
A motorist reported being followed by another vehicle. He eventually parked near the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at the courthouse.

A caller told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies that her ex husband is a fugitive from Arizona and causing anxiety in her family.

Libby police officers headed to a Mineral Avenue home after a man walked into the residence, mistakenly thinking it was his, and refused to leave.

Libby police officers warned a motorist for hanging out in Riverfront Park after dark.

Suspicious vehicle
Libby police officers investigated a suspicious vehicle near a local watering hole.
1:29 a.m.
Disturbance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to a Therriault Creek Road home after caller reported that their spouse, though on house arrest, had been drinking alcohol. The caller warned deputies that the man was armed with a sword.
9:36 a.m.
Harassment, threat, intimidation
An individual reported getting second-hand information that a man was threatening them. The individual had a protective order out against the man.
9:59 a.m.
Civil complaint
Authorities received a 911 call from a County Shop Road resident regarding a man who occasionally lives in her home. He showed up armed with a gun and while he was not making threats, he was “acting crazy.” Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene per her request.
10:18 a.m.
City ordinance violation
Libby police officers investigated a city ordinance violation near the intersection of California Avenue and 2nd Street.
10:50 a.m.
Restraining order violation
A Bull Lake Road resident reported a protective order violation by her husband. He took jointly shared items, she said, to include firearms.

Fire
A motorist recently involved in a traffic accident reported that his vehicle had caught fire after he returned home Norman Avenue in Libby. Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to the scene.

Libby police offices investigating a suspicious vehicle report near the baseball field on 2nd Street found a man passed out behind the vehicle.
