Jan. 15

12:16 a.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers headed to a local gas station for a report of a belligerent man yelling at the attendant. The man was refusing to leave the area.

11:10 a.m.

Assault

A man told Libby police officers that another man shoved him against a wall near the intersection of 5th Street and Louisiana Avenue.

12:20 p.m.

Civil complaint

A caller reported an incident regarding a jointly owned property. He insisted upon speaking with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy despite being told it was a civil matter.

12:34 p.m.

Criminal mischief

A Conifer Road resident told authorities that her car was vandalized overnight.

5:44 p.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers responded to Mineral Avenue for a report of a man acting suspiciously.

6:36 p.m.

Public assistance

Libby police officers arrived at a local laundromat after being asked to remove a vagrant from the business. Upon speaking with the man, they learned he was looking for a warm place to stay while he waited for his train. They took him to the lobby of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. He left about 8:50 p.m.

Jan. 16

12:42 a.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers made an arrest on partner or family member assault charges after responding to a disturbance at a local lodging house.

10:15 a.m.

Fish and game

Authorities received a report of two men fishing from a boat above the spillway near the Libby Dam.

10:46 a.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities received a report of more than 20 cats and several dogs in a home near Lewis Loop.

10:50 a.m.

Scam

A caller reported getting offered a check for $30 million if she turned over her bank account information.

12:58 p.m.

Scam

A caller told authorities he had sold an electronic device on Facebook. He found out the funds sent his way had been cancelled after he shipped the device.

4:06 p.m.

Public assistance

A Flower Creek resident asked law enforcement personnel to pick up a package that had been delivered to a neighbor’s home. The neighbor was out-of-town and the resident worried the package might get stolen.

4:35 p.m.

Missing person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies located a teenager who had not been home in more than a day.

5:09 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Conifer Road resident told authorities that her ex-partner threatened to kill her.

6 p.m.

Disturbance

A Nores Lane resident said someone in the area was shooting off fireworks, sending her dogs into a frenzy.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 2nd Street for a report of an ongoing fight.

Jan. 17

Traffic stop

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Austin Bailey, 26, on driving under the influence charges following a traffic stop.

10:06 a.m.

Animal complaint

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to a local animal rescue organization after dog babysitters surrendered a canine. The babysitters said they had been threatened with eviction if they did not remove the pet dog. The dog’s owner, meanwhile, was out of town and threatening to involve law enforcement.

10:35 a.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at a local church after receiving a report of a suspicious man. They left after issuing a trespass.

11:40 a.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported getting bitten by a neighbor’s dog. They did not want medical attention and instead requested law enforcement personnel speak with the animal’s owner.

3:16 p.m.

Disturbance

A Snowshoe lane resident asked Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies to enforce a noise ordinance in the neighborhood. Her neighbor had run his chainsaw for more than two hours on a Sunday, she said.

4:46 p.m.

Theft

Libby police officers arrested Kenneth Allen, 61, after responding to a report of a man going through items on the loading dock of a local business.

8:45 p.m.

Civil complaint

An intoxicated woman, described as “belligerent,” contacted authorities demanding they investigate her ex-partner for stealing a vehicle from her property. The woman did not see him take the vehicle and was unsure if she had a protective order out.

9:52 p.m.

Suspicious person

A caller reported a man walking near his home, yelling and singing as he went. He was headed toward U.S. Highway 2.

10:18 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Cody Mattis, 27, after responding disturbance.

8:48 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Montana Avenue resident reported suffering harassment at the hands of a neighbor.

10:55 a.m.

Civil complaint

A Bull Lake Road resident asked to speak with law enforcement regarding her ex-partner, who she alleged stole a vehicle from her property.

11:51 a.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

A caller reported finding a coin purse full of drug paraphernalia near 2nd Street.

1:39 p.m.

Child abuse

Libby police offices began investigating possible child abuse after a parent told authorities that his daughter had made allegations of abuse at the hands of her mother.

2:48 p.m.

Theft

Libby police officers headed to a local grocer for a report of shoplifters. The two individuals involved were trespassed from the store.

5:22 p.m.

Animal complaint

A Lindsay Road resident asked to speak with law enforcement after a dog attacked his canine.

7:11 p.m.

Public assistance

A caller asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy after speaking with her ex-partner, who was looking after their child. The other individual appeared to be intoxicated, she said.

9:44 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to an area trailer park after a woman told dispatch that her husband was not letting her leave their property.
