State officials are seeking feedback from hunters in a push to understand the results of the 2021 season.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials plan to survey more than 100,000 randomly-selected hunters for information on their hunting efforts, harvests and sightings. Species covered in the phone surveys include moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, antelope, deer, turkey, upland game birds and wolves, according to a news release from FWP.

While callers will ask about hunters’ experiences in the field, FWP officials will not ask for sensitive information, including Social Security numbers. Hunter surveys do not include requests for donations or payments.

Surveys will continue through May.
