Leonard "Brett" Rehard

| August 20, 2021 7:00 AM

Leonard “Brett” Rehard, lifelong Coeur d’Alene, Idaho resident, went to be in the arms of Jesus on July 28, 2021, at Kootenai Health. He was born March 15, 1983, to Lennie and Christy (Gilbert) Rehard.

They say it takes a village to raise a child and Brett had a large one. He was surrounded by love and light during his whole childhood. He enjoyed baseball, motorcycles, camping, hunting, fishing, and the outdoor lifestyle provided by north Idaho and Montana with his family. He had a witty sense of humor and infectious smile. He loved spending time with his many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and his sister, Paige Bristol. Brett was very generous and loving to his family and friends.

In 2010, he married Anna Mason and they were blessed with a son, Colton Jaxon, in 2012. Colton was the light of his life and often referred to as Brett’s Mini-Me. They spent many hours together, video gaming, swimming, fishing, hiking, reading and enjoying their father-and-son camaraderie.

Brett worked for a few years at Michael D’s Eatery, known fondly as “Junior” by staff and customers alike. He then moved on to Phones Plus, where he met many lifelong friends. Later, he moved to auto sales and worked at several of the dealerships in the north Idaho and eastern Washington area.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Leonard and Agnes Rehard of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and maternal grandparents, Roger and Arlene Gilbert of Thompson Falls.

He is survived by his son, Colton Rehard of Coeur d’Alene; his dad, Lennie Rehard (Angie) of Spokane, Wash.; his other dad, Stan Darlas of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; his mom, Christy (Gilbert) Sabo, and stepdad, James Sabo, of Libby; and grandparents, John and Nancy Darlas of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He also leaves behind a huge fan club of cousins, aunts, uncles, a niece and nephew, and many friends.

Yates Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. A fund has been set up for his son, Colton, c/o Christy Sabo at Lincoln County Credit Union in Libby.
