Edwin A. Parris, 83
Our beloved Edwin “Sonny” A. Parris, 83, passed away peacefully July 29, 2021. He was born in Epworth, Ga., in 1938 to Audelee and Lora Parris and joined his family of three brothers and three sisters.
He would go on to join the U.S. Navy in 1955, eventually serving in the reserves until 1961. He obligated his service and was honored as a veteran of the U.S. military. After discharging in Los Angeles, he began working for the Anheuser-Busch Brewery (Busch Gardens) out of Van Nuys, Calif. He became a foreman and was made a long term carrier.
He eventually moved to Libby, where he started driving for Harlow’s School Bus Services Inc. He drove children to schools, firefighters to the frontlines and even U.S. Army Corps of Engineers personnel to the Libby Dam. He finally retired and lived his life out peacefully, working on many projects involving cars, boats and his land.
He is survived by his two sons, Eddie Parris and Shane Parris, and youngest sister Donnijan Schreiber along with nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary at 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606, 818-763-9121.
Once a date is confirmed, we will reach out to everyone
“Uncle Sunny, fly with the angels, see your brothers and sisters and be at peace. I will miss you.”
Love your son,
Chris
