FWP looking to hire at area parks
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks are looking for full- and part-time hires at several Flathead Valley parks.
Spring-to-fall positions are open at Logan State Park on Middle Thompson Lake and the Big Arm, Wayfarers, Yellow Bay, Finley Point and West Shore units of Flathead Lake State Park, according to a March 23 announcement from the agency. A position at Whitefish Lake State Park is also open.
Six-month positions will pay $14.70 per hour and come with paid leave and retirement benefits. Hires will help with daily park operations, campgrounds, water-based sites, offices, visitor centers and entrance gates.
Logan State Park, located on Middle Thompson Lake halfway between Kalispell and Libby, offers camping, boating, swimming, fishing and picnicking activities. The park has more developed campgrounds compared to nearby recreation areas.
Each of the park units at Flathead Lake State Park features camping, rental picnic shelters, group camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnic and wildlife-viewing along with boating, swimming and fishing.
Whitefish Lake State Park offers a secluded campground and beach amid mature woodlands. Situated along the Whitefish hiking and biking trail system, the park provides many recreational opportunities. Boating, swimming, camping and fishing are popular activities.
To apply, candidates should visit the State of Montana Career site or the job posting on the state website. Successful applicants will have to pass a background check.
