PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT: PROPOSED ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND APPLICATION FOR EPA BROWNFIELDS CLEANUP GRANT ASA WOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBBY, MONTANA A public meeting will be held at 4:30 PM, October 8th in the KW Maki Theatre, 724 Louisiana Avenue, regarding redevelopment plans for the Asa Wood Elementary School currently owned by Libby Public Schools. Topics to be covered are listed below: *The need for asbestos abatement and lead-based paint encapsulation prior to renovation; *How Libby Public Schools wishes to redevelop the building; *The Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), which includes discussion of cleanup costs; and *The EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant proposal, which seeks funding for the cleanup. Interested parties are encouraged to review the draft ABCA. A copy of the document will be available for public review and comment at the public meeting and is also available through the Libby Public Schools website (http://www.libbyschools.org).
