Suspicious vehicle

Authorities investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle near a local convenience store.

1:31 a.m.

Suspicious vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked along U.S. Highway 2. The deputies spoke with the occupant before leaving the scene.

2:44 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Havenhill Lane resident asked authorities to handle a barking dog. The resident said the neighbor’s dog had been left outside all night. He told authorities he suspected the dog’s owner was out of town on a drug deal.

8:22 a.m.

Animal complaint

A resident reported that her red-tailed hawk had gone missing.

9:18 a.m.

Theft

A Yaak River Road resident told authorities that a burglar had broken into her trailer while she was gone for the weekend. Several items were missing from the home, she said.

Criminal trespass

A Weasel Creek Estate resident complained of people dumping waste on his property.

10:16 a.m.

Missing person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call reporting a young man missing. He had failed to show up for work that day. He was later reported found after showing up for work.

11:05 a.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers investigated a report of suspicious boxes found in several lilac bushes along Mineral Avenue.

12:48 p.m.

Traffic accident

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a hit-and-run crash on 9th Street and Idaho Avenue. The other driver was located and cited.

1:25 p.m.

Traffic violation

Authorities received a report of an individual driving with a suspended license.

5:01 p.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities received word of a cat bite in Eureka.

6:19 p.m.

Assault

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies handled an assaulted inside the county detention center.

7:48 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller told authorities that her eldest daughter was threatening to come and take her sister away from Libby.

Aug. 11

1:43 a.m.

Theft

A Bighorn Way resident told authorities that her husband, who she had separated from, had taken the pair’s jointly owned vehicle with her possessions inside. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies caught up with the man, who told them he planned on returning the vehicle momentarily.

6:55 a.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported spotting loose horses near Vanderwood Road.

9:10 a.m.

Suspicious activity

An Edgewater Drive resident told authorities that an unidentified individual had driven over her newly sealed driveway during the night. She also found bricks nearby.

9:25 a.m.

Public safety

A caller reported seeing people parking in a handicap spot without a handicap placard.

2:15 p.m.

Theft

A Parmenter Drive resident reported having trouble with a relative recently released from prison. They wanted theft charges pressed against the family member. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies resolved the situation.

Temporary restraining order violation

A woman told authorities that her ex partner violated her temporary restraining order by approaching her at a local supermarket. The ex wanted to discuss the couple’s dog.

3:41 p.m.

Theft

A Spencer Hill Avenue resident reported the theft of a package from his home. The delivery service reported the item as delivered, but the resident never received the item.

11:02 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a welfare check on a vehicle parked near mile marker 29 of U.S. Highway 2. The occupants were watching the meteor shower.

11:22 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received word of suspected drug activity near Frazey Loop. Responding deputies deemed the anonymous tip unfounded.

Suspicious vehicle

Libby police officers investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle near Riverfront Park.

6:58 a.m.

Animal complaint

A resident complained that a neighbor’s dog begins barking around 6 a.m. and continues all evening. They wanted authorities to speak with the dog’s owner.

7:37 a.m.

Fish and game

Authorities found a doe suffering from chronic wasting disease wedged between a building and fence on Klatawah Street.

10:50 a.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a drug case.

11:32 a.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers served a no trespass on a man who allegedly rummaged through other people’s belongings in Firemans Park.

12:34 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Authorities investigated a report of a suspicious odor near Gut Creek Road.

12:52 p.m.

Garbage, littering

Montana Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report regarding a pile of trash along Pipe Creek Road near the landfill.

14:02 p.m.

Sex crime

A caller asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy about a teenage relative dating an adult male.

3:58 p.m.

Agency assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Blue Ridge Road to settle a dispute over ownership of animals at a cattle sale.

4:04 p.m.

Fire

First responders were dispatched to an underground fire near Meadow Creek Road.

4:39 p.m.

Public safety

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Danny Mitchell on a driving under the influence charge after responding to a report of a vehicle driving all over the road. Authorities caught up with the motorist on state Highway 37.
