Suspicious vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jeffrey Kreiger, 25, on a felony warrant out of Idaho after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Commerce Way. Kreiger was held on a $10,000 bond.

Theft

Libby police officers investigated an alleged theft at a storage facility.

7:43 a.m.

Public safety

Montana Highway Patrol troopers responded to U.S. Highway 2 for a report of a six-year-old child walking along the roadway.

Public assistance

Libby police officers performed a wellness check at the behest of Troy Public Schools.

Criminal trespass

Authorities investigated a trespassing report on Gray Stone Pass.

Traffic violation

A caller reported a vehicle speeding down U.S. Highway 2 in Libby. The vehicle, which had North Carolina plates, pulled into a local gas station.

Criminal trespass

A convenience store clerk told authorities that a woman previously trespassed from the business had returned. The woman left before law enforcement personnel arrived on scene.

Officials with Child Protective Services called regarding a domestic dispute in August.

A Doak Creek Road resident told authorities his dog attacked a friend’s dog. He wanted to speak with the county animal control officer regarding the incident.

A caller told Libby police officers that a man was harassing her. She had told him to stop contacting her, but he is continuing to do so, using Internet-based phone numbers.

Libby police officers investigated a stolen firearm case that originated in Troy.

Probation violation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Summer Jacobsen and Natasha Haines on probation violation charges.

Suspicious activity

An Enders Road resident told authorities he suspected a prowler on the property. The caller said the family dog was “freaking out.”

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a drug case on Mountain View Drive.

10:22 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A local business owner reported that his cleaning lady found a threatening note slipped underneath the front door. The note was from a customer who claimed to have lost money in a machine. The individual agreed to come into the Mineral Avenue business so that the owner could reimburse him.

Traffic violation

The manager of a local veterans organization told Libby police officers that it appeared as though a motorist struck the front of the building. Several bricks were knocked out of place and there were other signs of damage. Officers took photos of the damage.

Authorities investigated suspicious activity on Beaver Creek Road.

Criminal trespass

Libby police officers responded to a local supermarket after a manager reported the presence of a woman previously trespassed from the store. Officers were unable to find her, leading them to suspect she left before they arrived.

The employee of a Libby business saw a woman receive a series of blows after getting into a motor vehicle on West 9th Street.

A caller reported spotting a man beating up a woman on the side of U.S. Highway 2 near Cedar Creek Road. One individual was taken to the emergency room of a local medical facility while the other was transported home after authorities arrived on scene.

A West Larch Street resident received a phone call claiming he owed $500 to a bank.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Libby police officers investigated a possible stalking complaint at a local restaurant.

Agency assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to verify information received by an unidentified outside agency that a woman and her autistic child were living in a storage shed with no running water.

Civil complaint

A caller told authorities that she entered into a verbal agreement with her neighbors to take and sell items left behind after the neighbors moved. She was concerned she might be accused of theft in the future.

Theft

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated the possible theft of a forklift. The piece of machinery was left on a jobsite with the keys inside. The individual who reported the theft called back later to say the forklift had been found.

Search and rescue teams descended upon the Kootenai Falls area after receiving a report of hikers struggling to extricate themselves.

A caller reported seeing a fire near the bleachers at Libby Middle High School. Authorities determined the blaze was the bonfire lit for the annual homecoming celebration.

Libby police officers responded to U.S. Highway 2 for a probation or parole violation.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers responded to J. Neils Memorial Park for a report of loud noises potentially from automobiles. The caller thought it sounded as if someone was performing donuts. Responding officers could not find any vehicles.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a local veterans organization for a report of a fight.
