We can choose our physician, why not our health officer?

To the editor:

A family story: My grandmother once explained to a neighbor why she could not help her get well, having been threatened by the town doctor to stop practicing medicine and warned to leave town or go to jail after a patient refused to buy his snake oil. Word spread faster than a fear agenda virus and the doctor left town as his traffic could not keep the dust blown off his shingle. In Lincoln County, such incompetence is rewarded with a government job with Gestapo levels of authority.

Grandma knew not to tell her neighbors: Well, you are gonna die from something some day anyway so do it now while we can write you down as a COVID-related death and get much more money than you are worth alive. And she wasn’t working under an oath to save lives.

As the communist and fascist doctrine turns, the plan is proving to be: “The only thing you have to fear is the fear agenda itself.” The goal: “Fear your spouse/partner, family, neighbors and report anyone not doing what we tell them so they can be punished.”

When I cough, as I have for three to four decades from lung problems, and no one hears me, am I required to report myself so I can be listed as a positive case?

Causing a panic over so few active cases and three deaths out of 18 to 20,000 county residents is insane quackery. By war standards, 9 to 10,000 county deaths qualify as light casualties. (Ed.’s note: This would amount to about a 45 percent casualty rate and is roughly equivalent to the losses suffered by the 7th Cavalry Regiment at Little Bighorn.)

Lincoln County Health Officer needs to be an elected position so voters can control who terrorizes us. We, the people, choose the health care providers that treat us. Quacks go broke, not U.S.

November Cometh! I will be doing my duty to scrape the donkey dung off the seats of every hall of government in my country. No Clunkers For Congress!
