Authorities responded to a disturbance on east 5th Avenue.

Fire

First responders arrived at east 5th Avenue home for a report of a fire in a garage.

8:41 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies met with a Swanson Lodge Road resident, who claimed his neighbor was harassing his family, including setting off fireworks to scare them and the family dog.

11:50 a.m.

Suspicious activity

A 911 caller told Libby police officers that a couple with a child in a blue vehicle with local license plates was acting strangely. Officers met up with the trio near Firemans Park.

12:08 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported an animal abuse case along Riverside Avenue.

12:55 p.m.

Fraud

A local auto dealership told authorities that a rental vehicle had gone unreturned. The renter agreed to bring the vehicle back after three days. A month had passed and dealership employees were unable to contact the renter.

5:15 p.m.

Fish and game

Authorities searching unsuccessfully for deer suffering a broken leg later learned that a resident had taken it home in the hopes of tending its wounds. The animal was struck and injured by an automobile on Kootenai River Road.

Traffic stop

Libby police officers cited a motorist after a traffic stop near the intersection of 6th Street and Idaho Avenue.

Sept. 11

8:06 a.m.

Assault

Authorities said one inmate assaulted another inside the Lincoln County Detention Center.

10 a.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities responded to an incident involving a cat and a pit bull at a local trailer court.

1:04 p.m.

Theft

A caller reported staying at a local lodging house the week prior. Several items were stolen from him while there.

2:52 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Authorities investigated suspicious activity at an undisclosed location in Lincoln County. No further details were available.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance at Airstrip Road.

5:05 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Farm to Market Road resident reported receiving harassing phone calls from a man.

5:42 p.m.

Animal complaint

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies removed a stray dog that was found near a Libby business. The individual who reported the animal said the dog was suspected to have attacked other pets.

Public assistance

Libby police officers responded to Mineral Avenue after receiving an anonymous tip that a young child, about seven years old, was in an alley with several adults “smoking dope.” Investigators were unable to locate drug activity.

9:56 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A Lookout Drive resident reported catching sight of a light on in a cabin that should have been unoccupied. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies did not find anything out of the ordinary.

Traffic stop

Libby police officers cited a motorist for driving with a suspended license after pulling the individual over near the intersection of California Avenue and 5th Street for a turn signal violation.

12:35 a.m.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to a local veterans’ organization for a report of a disturbance.

12:42 a.m.

Public safety

Authorities investigated a vehicle left on the side of U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 42. One of its windows was shot out with a pellet gun.

8:25 a.m.

Criminal mischief

A Burnt Dutch Road resident alleged that a neighbor had spent the past two nights shooting at a political sign posted in her front yard.

8:56 a.m.

Agency assistance

First responders transported an individual to a local medical facility after he was found unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle. The man was breathing.

1:49 p.m.

Motor vehicle theft

Local authorities recovered a vehicle stolen out of Kalispell after a county resident reported finding it abandoned on his property. The suspect was already thought to be in custody and held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to a restaurant along U.S. Highway 2 after receiving a report of two individuals fighting in a pickup.

5:38 p.m.

Theft

A Libby resident reported a stolen bicycle, telling authorities that one juvenile had stolen it from another minor near the intersection of Montana Avenue and East Larch Street.

Public assistance

A caller asked to speak with law enforcement regarding his brother. The man was last known to be in the Yaak area collecting firewood.

Theft

A camp host asked for an officer to handle a woman who had not paid for her camping spot.

Libby police officers cited a motorist for driving without insurance after stopping them near the intersection of California and 2nd Street.

A 911 caller reported seeing two individuals walking along U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 55.

A 911 caller reported coming across two women — a mother and daughter — fighting one another on Farm to Market Road.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Amanda Reeves, 31, on a partner or family member assault charge after responding to a disturbance near Bowker Street and Granite Avenue.
