| October 6, 2020 7:00 AM

Jacob Russell Heimer died Sept. 30, 2020, at the age of 38. Jacob fought the effects of cancer treatments for six years, never recovering from the bone marrow treatment. On Sept. 28, 2020, Jacob was diagnosed with COVID-19 and transferred to Kalispell Regional Hospital. He passed away two days later.

Jacob grew up in Washington State, moving to The Dalles, Ore., in 1994, where he discovered he loved skateboarding. Jacob moved to Milwaukie, Ore., in 2008 where he married his wife, Jessica, and started raising his two kids. Jacob was diagnosed with two forms of rare Leukemia in 2014, eventually moving to Libby, where he lived with his parents. Jacob called it the healing place.

Jacob's greatest loves were his two kids, Blake (11 years old) and Amber (9 years old). He fought the battle of cancer for his kids to the end. Jacob also liked fishing, hiking, cooking, arborist work, cutting wood and making clocks.

Jacob is survived by his mom, Jacqueline Carroll, and stepdad Jerry Carroll; his brother, Jeremy Heimer; biological father, James Heimer and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at later date. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
