Oct. 21

3:29 a.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported spotting three horses on U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 45. The caller later told authorities he was able to get the animals off of the roadway.

10:20 a.m.

Scam

A caller alerted authorities to an Internet scam regarding a business posing as an animal rescue facility in Libby.

10:25 a.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers responded to Minnesota Avenue after receiving a third party report of a man checking out front porches without first talking to property owners.

10:29 a.m.

Suspicious person

A caller reported coming across a transient man in his 30s, dressed in camouflage, making his way westward. The man asked about the number of law enforcement personnel in Libby and Troy. Authorities caught up with the man in Troy. He told them he was hoping an officer would give him a ride to the Idaho border.

12:36 p.m.

Criminal trespass

A caller reported one or more individuals broke into his vehicle overnight and left behind personal belongings.

Property

A Libby resident stopped by the Police Department with a backpack full of clothes tossed into trees on his property.

6:11 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A Libby Creek Road resident told authorities that a drone was hovering and flying around the windows of his home on a nightly basis. It had not begun on this particular evening, but the homeowner told authorities he would call back when the harassment began.

7:42 p.m.

Traffic accident

First responders arrived at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Utah Avenue after a two-vehicle accident. Two people were transported to a local medical center for treatment.

9:09 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A Pine Haven Road resident reported seeing a motorist park along the river. The driver emerged, walked down to the water, turned around and got back into their vehicle. The vehicle then drove off.

9:12 p.m.

Suspicious person

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported a man in an orange knit cap hanging out at the end of his driveway.

Oct. 22

5:05 a.m.

Assault

Troy police officers arrested Brenton Erickson, 32, on charges of partner or family member assault, privacy in communication and possession of paraphernalia after responding to a report of an assault.

12:11 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle near mile marker two of Bear Creek Road.

1:43 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caseworker told authorities that a client’s ex-partner was making death threats.

2:56 p.m.

Suspicious activity

An individual reported finding bones that did not look like an animal near Kootenai River Road.

3:23 p.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

A woman told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she found drugs placed under the gas cap of her vehicle.

5:38 p.m.

Fire

Authorities confirmed that a blaze near Warland Creek was a proscribed burn.

9:08 a.m.

Criminal mischief

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of an individual spray painting graffiti onto a roadway.

10:08 a.m.

Civil complaint

A Vinal Lake Road resident asked to speak with authorities regarding property left behind by a former tenant.

12:48 p.m.

Public assistance

A caller asked if a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy could help retrieve his dog from a woman who is refusing to hand the animal over. The woman had been dogsitting the animal.

2:23 p.m.

Traffic stop

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Leah Gudmundsen, 37, on drug charges after a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 2.

2:26 p.m.

Traffic accident

First responders headed to mile marker 41 of U.S. Highway 2 for a vehicle rollover.

5:07 p.m.

Suspicious person

An Evans Road resident reported a sex offender for hanging around her underage children.

6:58 p.m.

Missing person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies launched a short-lived search for a missing teenager after the 15-year-old was more than an hour overdue to return home.

7:47 p.m.

Theft

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a burglary near Bull River Road. The homeowner reported the theft of a bag containing binoculars, carved ivory and a .22 pistol.

1:12 a.m.

Public safety

An individual reported aggressive drivers to Libby police officers.

3:14 a.m.

Assault

Authorities responded to Lindsay Road after Eureka dispatchers reported getting a call from a distraught and panicking woman, who was screaming at a man. The line went dead on the call. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies transported the woman to another residence.

9:27 a.m.

Suspicious activity

A caller reported activity possibly related to arson near state Highway 56 near Shannon Flats.

10:30 a.m.

Disturbance

A Parmenter Drive resident told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he was awoken by a man banging on his doors. The man broke a window as well.

12:53 p.m.

Suspicious person

After responding to a suspicious person report on U.S. Highway 2, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies gave a man walking along the roadway a ride to Kalispell shelter.

1:40 p.m.

Public safety

A Snowshoe Road resident told authorities he heard gunshots on public land.

2:09 p.m.

Theft

A Frazy Loop resident reported the theft of firewood.

6:16 p.m.

Ambulance call

First responders headed to a Yaak River Road location for a report of an individual suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

7:18 p.m.

Disturbance

Authorities got a report of an 86-year-old woman assaulting her daughter-in-law near Great Northern Avenue.

Oct. 25

1:46 a.m.

Suspicious vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle report from Woodland Road. The caller told authorities a Jeep had followed his girlfriend home and was now driving around the neighborhood. Deputies spoke with the motorist.

9:26 a.m.

Theft

A caller told Libby police officers that an individual stole her flag during an argument.

10:05 a.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers arrested Joyce Kujala on partner or family member assault charges after responding to a disturbance on Commerce Way.

10:51 p.m.

Missing person

Local law enforcement joined search and rescue teams in looking for a woman who went missing with five children in the Sylvan Lake area and then near the Libby Dam.
