Animal complaint

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a request to perform a welfare check on a dog. The individual making the request said the dog looked underfed and unhygienic. It also was left outside in an unsafe environment.

7:31 p.m.

Disturbance

Authorities investigated a report of a noisy party on Pinewood Lane. The anonymous caller said they suspected the partygoers were burning railroad ties.

8:50 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported getting bitten by a dog while riding his bike along U.S. Highway 2.

Public assistance

A wellness check was requested on a woman who had been left upset by family problems in recent weeks.

11:49 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a woman screaming outside of a Snowshoe Road residence. Deputies escorted the woman to a residence and had her vehicle towed.

Public safety

Authorities responded to a local motel after receiving a report of a possibly intoxicated woman struggling to get into her vehicle.

April 8

Suspicious activity

A Forest Avenue resident reported that kids were knocking on her door and looking in through the windows of her home.

Public safety

Montana Highway Patrol were called out to the Forest Drive and Kootenai Vista area after an individual reported spotting kids on a four-wheeler and motor bike driving at unsafe speeds.

12:20 p.m.

Public assistance

Libby police officers were dispatched to Balsam Street after receiving a complaint of a couple walking a dog.

Public safety

A Parmenter Drive resident reported a motorist for speeding in a residential neighborhood. It is an ongoing problem.

Disturbance

Libby police officers investigated a report of gunshots near Reese Court.

April 9

2:30 a.m.

Traffic accident

A minor involved in a rollover near Cows Lake was cited as a minor in possession after receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

10:43 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

An individual asked to speak with an officer regarding being stalked.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported feeling threatened during a conversation with a neighbor who does not keep his dog on a leash.

Hazmat, environmental

Authorities responded to a spill of about 20 gallons of hydraulic oil near the BNSF tracks.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Bowker Street after a resident reported that a neighbor tossed garbage into his yard. During a subsequent confrontation, the resident felt threatened.

Firearms

A Forest Way resident reported her neighbor for shooting a firearm on his property. Authorities told her that the firing was legal so long as he was doing it safely. The caller replied by saying she did not know if the neighbor was taking proper safety measures.

Ambulance call

First responders arrived at the Kootenai Falls Swinging Bridge after receiving a report of a 66-year-old man who suffered injuries after falling.

The Libby Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire near the East 5th Street Extension.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a report of an intoxicated cyclist riding along U.S. Highway 2 discovered the man was suffering from a diabetic attack. Deputies gave him a ride home.

Authorities responded to a disturbance on Alder Lane.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out to the former Shopko parking lot for a report of an individual doing doughnuts in a silver Dodge Charger or Challenger.

An Airport Road resident reported that a motorist in a white truck struck his fence, backed up and then rammed another fence.

April 13

5:51 a.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities responded to the intersection of 9th Street and Minnesota Avenue after receiving a report of a dead dog left in a white bag along the street. After determining the corpse was actually that of a deer, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted the highway department.

7:03 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Louisiana Avenue resident reported receiving “threatening and obscure” messages.

7:48 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Shaughnessy Hill Road resident reported that a dog followed him home.

8:20 a.m.

City ordinance violation

Libby police warned one or more individuals selling firewood in the parking lot of a local restaurant.

8:27 a.m.

Property

An individual formerly in detention reported that a few of his personal items, including a Bersa 380 pistol, had gone missing. He had left them in the care of another.

1:31 p.m.

Public safety

A Bellvue Trailer Court resident reported that someone was shooting a firearm across the field near her home. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined the shooting was being done safely.

2:12 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of two men kicking a third man. The assailants fled before law enforcement officials arrived.

2:35 p.m.

Disturbance

A My Road resident reported being assaulted by a relative. Authorities instructed the individuals involved to remain separated until authorities could investigate.

2:42 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Bowker Street resident reported that a neighbor was making threats with a gun. Several days earlier, the same neighbor had made threats with an axe. Arriving Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies separated the individuals.
