Assault
Libby police responded to a scuffle at a local drinking establishment allegedly involving an individual with a firearm and arrested Richard Charles Allen. Authorities charged Allen with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated and carrying concealed in a prohibited place.
2:42 a.m.
Public safety
Authorities responded to a report of trash and debris in the road along U.S. Highway 2.
3:06 a.m.
Suspicious activity
A Hartmann Lane resident phoned authorities after an unidentified individual left a package between the door and screen of his home. The resident said he did not see or hear anyone arrive at the home. He told authorities he had kicked the package of the porch. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the package in the morning and determined the U.S. Postal Service had dropped it off. It contained a nail file that the resident denied ordering.
10:39 a.m.
Traffic stop
Libby police cited a motorist for speeding along Farm To Market Road.
11:54 a.m.
Warrant
Libby police arrested Shelby Ward near a local fast food restaurant on a failure to appear charge. Ward was held on a $10,000 bond.
2:59 p.m.
Suspicious person
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle circling the parking lot of a Eureka store.
3:06 p.m.
Sex crime
A caller reported getting sexually assaulted 12 years ago.
3:52 p.m.
Fraud
A caller reported giving the last four digits of his Social Security number to an organization.
4:11 p.m.
Suspicious person
A caller reported a potentially homeless individual drinking on the premises of a Libby business establishment. The man left before authorities arrived.

Civil complaint
An East 6th Street resident called to report that her motor home had been sold out from underneath her.
11:58 p.m.
Public assistance
Libby police responded to East 8th Street after receiving a report of a woman lying in a yard and crying.
March 8
11:47 a.m.
Disturbance
A Spencer Road resident reported noise coming from the trailer park across the road.
12:15 p.m.
Theft
An East Lincoln Boulevard resident told authorities his cousin was stealing tools from him. The tools were kept in a relative’s home.
12:34 p.m.
Harassment, threat, intimidation
A caller reported getting flipped off by a man in a red truck near the intersection of Utah Avenue and Larch Street. The man later got out of his truck and approached them “in an intimidating manner.”
12:40 p.m.
Public assistance
First responders transported an elderly woman to a local medical center after getting a request to perform a wellness check. The individual who made the request said their grandmother had been ill and out of contact for several days. Responding Libby police officers found the woman dizzy and disoriented.

Fire
First responders investigated a report of a fire in the woods near Break Road.
6:26 p.m.
Property
Libby police investigated a silver Huffy bicycle that had been left at the bike rack of a local grocery store for an extended period of time.
March 9
8:42 a.m.
Traffic accident
Montana Highway Patrol troopers investigated a possible rollover at mile marker 34 of State Highway 37. Authorities found debris and personal items on the roadway but no vehicle upon arrival.
11:12 a.m.
Theft
A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported the theft of hundreds of dollars worth of automobile parts.

Warrant
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an unidentified woman for criminal insurance fraud.

Shoplift
Libby police investigated a shoplifting report at a local grocery store.
1:15 p.m.

A Mill Springs Road resident reported getting taken in by a scam.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a theft at Koocanusa Estates Road.

A man reported finding a black Samsung mobile phone while on a walk near River View Drive.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies offered assistance at the Eureka Port of Entry with the handling of an individual found with pills that tested positive for methamphetamine.

A Troy resident reported that an unknown individual had set his vehicle ablaze. The vehicle was in storage and contained all of his belongings.
