3:12 a.m.
Alarm
Authorities responded to a residential alarm on Quartz Road and discovered that wind had knocked a tree branch down on the main door of a garage. The door was wedged shut, but not secured, hence the alarm.
4:24 a.m.
Public safety
An individual reported spotting trees leaning dangerously over a roadway. The observation was passed along to county road crews.
7:06 a.m.
Environment
An individual reported that wind had taken down a power line along Pipe Creek Road. Officials alerted the state highway department and utility company.

Authorities received a report of a downed power line on Bald Eagle Road.

Authorities received a 911 call alerting them to a low-hanging tree over state Highway 37.

Disturbance
A Park Street resident reported two juveniles walking to the school bus while trundling a boom box along on wheels. The pair was blaring music and swore at an individual who asked them to quiet down.

A man reported that an unknown individual burglarized his storage unit.

A Taylor Road resident reported seeing a white pickup truck race around the neighborhood several times.

Animal complaint
A caller reported that a dog had fallen through the ice near Mud Lake Road and could not be extracted. Personnel with the Troy Volunteer Fire Department responded and found a dog paddling in the icy water. First responders rescued the animal.

Theft
A local fire department reported that a former member never returned a fire radio after quitting the organization.

Authorities investigated a case of identity theft on Louisiana Avenue.

A North Central Avenue resident reported getting a scam call from a local phone number. The caller claimed to be from the Social Security Administration and asked for personal information.

Authorities investigated a theft at Libby High School.

Authorities investigated a drug or drug paraphernalia case at Libby High School.
3:47 p.m.
Public safety
Multiple people reported seeing children playing on oil tankers by the railroad tracks near Health Park Drive. Arriving Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies spoke with the children and learned they were exploring. The children were told that they could not play on the railroad cars.

911 call
Authorities responding to an incident on Garden Road separated the two men involved in the dispute.

Fish and game
A caller reported finding an eagle with a stick in its wing along U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 38.
6:34 p.m.
Suspicious activity
A caller reported a man on an all-terrain vehicle headed toward a known drug house near Conifer Road. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped the rider and instructed him not to drive the vehicle on the roadway.

Authorities investigated a report of suspicious activity on California Avenue.
9:22 p.m.
Disturbance
Authorities responded to a report of a disturbance along Old Highway 2. A female caller reported that her son was “out of control.” The dispute had not yet grown physical, she told authorities. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies learned the caller had left for a relative’s home.
9:44 p.m.
Public assistance
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies told the owner of a shop on U.S. Highway 2 that they would check on his store. The business owner, out of town at the time, was concerned that the air conditioning unit in the store was malfunctioning and potentially damaging merchandise.
March 6
4:26 a.m.
Disturbance
A woman reported an individual trying to gain entry into her home through a back door. The handle jiggled and the door came open, but there was no one there when she got close enough to inspect it. The latch was loose as a result. The caller reported that it had happened before.
8:12 a.m.
Traffic stop
Libby police cited a motorist near the elementary school for speeding.
9:38 a.m.
Animal control
Authorities attempted to corral a dog running loose near U.S. Highway 2 in Libby.

Animal complaint
A Hartman’s Lane resident reported that a dog came onto her property. She chased the dog off.

Theft
An individual reported multiple thefts in the Libby area.
3:49 p.m.
Traffic stop
Libby police cited a motorist for passing a school bus while children were unloading along U.S. Highway 2.
9:35 p.m.
Assault
Libby police arrested Richard Simons on a partner or family member assault charge after responding to a dispute at an 8th Street residence.

An individual reported nearly getting hit by a vehicle accelerating out of a Commerce Way parking lot.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of minors with drugs and alcohol on Spencer Road.
