6:12 p.m.

911 call

A motorist dialed authorities after her truck started to smoke. She pulled over on U.S. Highway 2 and asked the dispatcher to phone her husband so that he could retrieve her and the truck.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Three Corner Road resident told authorities she received threats from her neighbor regarding mowing her lawn.

9:45 p.m.

Traffic violation

Libby police officers arrested Rex Fredrick Alsbury after receiving a report of a man drinking, driving and harassing a woman in town.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A woman told authorities that her daughter is receiving threatening text messages from an ex-boyfriend.

7:32 a.m.

Disturbance

A Terning Lane resident asked the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for help in removing their grandson from their property.

9:42 a.m.

Fish and game

An individual reported finding unchecked crayfish traps at Crystal Lake.

Harassment, threat, intimidate

A Crest Street resident told authorities her father showed up at her workplace and began threatening her. The disagreement was over a dirt bike she had bought her son.

A Three Corners Road resident reported that a motorist drove by, flashed his middle finger and yelled obscenities. The resident was curious about what laws govern that type of behavior. The resident told authorities they would ask court officials as well as he had a court date that week.

Suspicious activity

Authorities investigated a report of vandals targeting vehicles in Eureka. The original caller reported the incident because the individuals targeted her grandmother’s truck. The caller did not get along with the grandmother and was worried she would be accused of the vandalism.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller reported harassment over the contested ownership of a deceased individual’s ashes.

Animal complaint

A Quartz Road resident reported a “very friendly” stray cat in her yard.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alleged fight near Badger Road.

Fire

Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a blaze near mile marker 28 of U.S. Highway 2. Fireworks allegedly caused the blaze.

A caller reported that a man pulled a gun on his wife while she checked on a friend’s property.

A Lewis Loop resident said that a man had sent her son threatening emails.

Criminal mischief

A U.S. Highway 2 resident accused a vagrant she had forced off her property of damaging her mailbox. She called authorities again shortly thereafter and said the mailbox may also have been damaged during road construction.

A Louisiana Avenue resident reported a dog barking all night long.

A Kootenai River Road resident asked to file a complaint regarding a relative’s dog. The animal bit and killed her dog while the relative was in town the weekend prior.

Disturbance

A Utah Avenue resident complained that neighbors were lighting off fireworks. Several other callers reported the same issue.

A caller told authorities that his girlfriend was again receiving threats.

Authorities arrested a juvenile in Libby after she allegedly struck her mother.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of fireworks going off near McGinnis Meadows Road.

Public assistance

Authorities responded to a report of a 3-year-old child who had locked himself inside a vehicle. The child later unlocked the doors.

Criminal mischief

Libby police investigated a report that an East Lincoln Boulevard resident had scratched a vehicle belonging to his neighbor.

Authorities investigated a report of young men shooting firearms and exploding fireworks near a U.S. Forest Service trailhead.

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported receiving threatening messages via social media.

Animal complaint

Authorities investigated an injured dog call near Pine Creek Lane. Although they located the pet’s owners, the dog had since died.

A pet owner reported losing her dog near the golf course.
