NOTICE OF SALE Department of Natural Resources & Conservation Timber Sale The Cow Camp Timber Sale is located within Section 12, T29N-R27W, on the State's Libby Unit. Approximately 15,285 tons, consisting of primarily Douglas-fir sawlogs, are offered for sale. Sealed bids will be opened at the Department of Natural Resources & Conservation, 2705 Spurgin Road, Missoula, Montana on June 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Bids may be hand delivered or mailed and will be accepted any time prior to the bid opening. DNRC recommends that bidders contact the Trust Land Management Division (406-542-4300) prior to the bid opening to ensure that your bid has been received. Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of $12,159.00, representing 5% of the minimum bid value of the sale in cashier's check, certified check, bank money order or bank draft to be applied to the first sale invoice for the successful bidder. Bid bonds will be accepted and, for the successful bidder, will be closed upon execution of the Timber Sale Contract and Timber Sale Bond. The sale will be awarded to the highest responsible bidder. Award of the timber sale is conditional upon approval of the timber sale by the State Board of Land Commissioners at their June 15, 2020 meeting. If the successful bidder is unable to execute the contract within 30 calendar days from the date the sale is awarded, the bid deposit will be retained by the Department as liquidated damages. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Legal Notice Notice of Application for an Amendment to an Operating Permit (pursuant to the Metal Mine Reclamation Act, Section 82-4-353 (1), Montana Code Annotated (MCA)). The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) received an application for an amendment held by Schellinger Construction Company, Inc., (Schellinger) for the Essex Quarry, operating permit No. 00045. The quarry is located near Essex approximately 28 miles southeast of West Glacier in Flathead County, Montana. The site is in Sections 33 and 34, Township 30 North, Range 16 West. The amendment area would cover a total of 20.6 acres, all of which would proposed to be disturbed. In total 60.5 acres would be permitted for disturbance. The life of mine would extend to 2060. Schellinger would use trucks and heavy equipment to remove the stone used for riprap and ballast. Blasting would be required about once a year. The application can be viewed by the public at the DEQ office located at 1520 E. 6th Ave., in Helena, MT by appointment only.
