3:34 a.m.

Alarm

Libby police officers investigated an apparent false alarm at a local furniture store.

9:47 a.m.

Traffic accident

A motorist reported hitting a deer near the intersection of Autumn and Farm to Market roads. The deer ran off.

12:11 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a wellness check on a woman on behalf of her brother. She told authorities she had been texting her brother all morning.

3:15 p.m.

Fire

First responders arrived at the Fisher River Dumpsters near state Highway 37 for a report of a possible fire. A caller reported that another individual had dumped hot embers into the trash bins and it was now smoking. Personnel with Libby Volunteer Fire Department watered it down.

4:16 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Ridge View Lane resident reported that he heard his ex-girlfriend had bought a .22 for her new boyfriend. He worried the new boyfriend was going to shoot him. He also had spotted footprints around his home that day.

9:21 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Minnesota Avenue resident reported her neighbor’s dogs barking. The caller did not want to speak with the neighbor personally as she did not know him.

Animal complaint

A Pioneer Road resident reported a neighbor’s dog coming on their property. The caller thought a passing vehicle might then have hit the dog.

11:21 a.m.

Public safety

A caller reported icy conditions on Shaugnessy Hill and requested a sander treat the roadway. A vehicle already had ended up in a ditch.

4:11 p.m.

Public assistance

A Commerce Way resident reported losing her driver’s license since moving to Montana. She planned to replace it with a Montana driver’s license in late January, but wanted advice on how to drive legally until that time.

5:12 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A caller reported a person loading items into a red and white, older model pickup outside Old Central School. Authorities determined the individual was a caretaker.

5:49 p.m.

Animal complaint

A Nevada Avenue resident reported their neighbor’s dogs bark nonstop when the owner is away from home.

9:14 p.m.

Animal complaint

A West Balsam Street resident reported a stray black Labrador retriever near her home.

11:14 p.m.

Public assistance

An apartment dweller filed a noise complaint with upstairs neighbors for blaring music until 5 a.m. The offending party agreed to turn the volume down after speaking with authorities.
