Feb. 12

6:12 a.m.

Fire

A patient at a local hospital reported a possible vehicle fire across the railroad tracks from the medical center. A search of the area failed to turn up any signs of a blaze, officials said.

6:56 a.m.

Public safety

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported hearing what sounded like racecars driving up and down the road. The noise generally occurs between 8 and 9 p.m. The caller told authorities she had never seen the vehicles, but worried about public safety.

Fish and game

Authorities investigated a possible fresh mountain lion kill on Dome Mountain.

Animal complaint

A caller reported finding a lost dog on Old Highway 2.

Animal complaint

A Tamarack Lane resident called to report her neighbor’s dogs for charging at her when she leaves the house. The caller told authorities she had prior issues with the neighbor.

12:15 p.m.

Warrant

Authorities traveled to Flathead County to pick up a male suspect wanted on charges in Lincoln County.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies detained two women and a dog near mile marker 22 of state Highway 37 after a traffic stop.

Criminal trespass

Authorities investigated a trespassing report at Doble Drive.

4:01 p.m.

Civil complaint

A motorist heading to Libby from Kalispell requested law enforcement standby while she collected her vehicle and gun from her daughter’s home. She expected a dispute and may require help.

Property

A caller reported losing a black wallet in Libby.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of two women arguing at Three Corners Trailer Court. Arriving deputies determined the argument was regarding cats. Both women were advised to call animal control in the future. Shortly thereafter, animal control got a report about underfed kittens.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported receiving threats.

Suspicious activity

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated suspicious activity near Libby Central School.

A 4th Street resident suspected an individual had entered her apartment. She noticed her towels had been moved.

8:23 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Rustic Road resident reported getting harassed about allegedly harassing her ex boyfriend and his girlfriend.

10:04 a.m.

Fraud

Authorities investigated a report of bad checks at a local bank.

12:01 p.m.

Animal complaint

A Kootenai River Road resident called to request help in preventing a cat from eating her pet’s food.

12:47 p.m.

Property

A woman dropped off her brother’s belongings at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. She wanted to break off contact with her sibling and did not want to be accused of theft.

1:20 p.m.

Probation violation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an unidentified individual for a probation violation.

1:43 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller reported a man for giving him the finger at a Libby gas station.

3:54 p.m.

Animal complaint

A Pipe Creek Road resident reported animal neglect. The minor told authorities that a relative had kept a dog in a cage located outdoors for a year. He said the animal was malnourished.

4:09 p.m.

Missing person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies launched a search along U.S. Highway 2 after a resident reported their son missing. Authorities later learned that a relative had custody of the child.

4:13 p.m.

Fire

First responders received a report of a possible electrical fire on 9th Street.

4:50 p.m.

911 call

Authorities responded to a report of a woman allegedly trying to run over her daughter in a sedan that was headed toward town. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the vehicle unoccupied along the 2nd Street Extension. Authorities cleared the scene after separating the individuals involved.

5:16 p.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities received a report of three horses running loose near the Rawlings Tract.

Feb. 14

9:39 a.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police arrested an unidentified individual at an undisclosed location for possession of dangerous drugs.

11:02 a.m.

Public safety

Officials received a report of rocks rolling onto the road near Bowen Hill. Road crews were dispatched.

11:51 a.m.

Civil complaint

A caller requested law enforcement help in retrieving her deceased husband’s ashes from a Wisconsin Avenue home.

2:09 p.m.

Suspicious person

Authorities responded to a report of a suspicious-looking man in the parking lot near a local school and playground. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined the man was an area resident.

2:35 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported that the window of a neighboring home was broken, possibly during a storm or an illegal entry. The neighbor recently died.

3:13 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Snowshoe Drive home after a resident reported that his 21-year-old stepdaughter attacked her mother. She also was tearing the house apart, the caller said. Authorities removed one female adult and took her to a friend’s house.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to a disturbance near mile marker 29 of Bull Lake Road.

4:15 p.m.

Ambulance

Emergency responders were dispatched to Pulpit Mountain after a report of a snowmobile accident. Two Bear Air also was called to the scene.

6:41 p.m.

Animal complaint

Eureka dispatch relayed a call regarding a white dog jumping on students and scratching them.

9:25 p.m.

Suspicious person

Authorities investigated a report of a suspicious person yelling threats at minors in the parking lot of a local supermarket.
