PUBLIC NOTIFICATION Opencut Mining Amendment #2 Rocky Mountain Gravel Site Opencut #2747 Lincoln County, Montana For: Rocky Mountain Gravel, Inc. P. O. Box 368 Eureka, Montana 59917 Phone: (406) 249-0231 Permit Acreage: Existing permitted opencut acreage is 18.2 total acres; Proposed amended permit acreage is 28.8 total acres. The 10.6-acre amendment is located to the west of the existing opencut permit boundary. Estimated volume: Overburden (from Reclamation Bond Sheet): 17,778 cubic yards. Volume of materials to be removed (from entire permit area): 1,107,692 cubic yards. Types of materials to be removed: Gravel and sand. Description of Facilities: Opencut mining for gravel and sand only (no other products produced or stored); existing mobile processing equipment to remain onsite through the duration of the permit. All reject fines will be periodically placed back into the mine as operations progress through the life of the permit. Equipment includes backhoe, dozer, dump/haul truck, excavator, loader, scraper and skidsteer; The operation uses mobile fueling only, no onsite storage. A water truck supplies water, for dust control purposes only, with no onsite water source. There is no discharge of water from RMG, Inc. opencut operations; a stormwater runoff collection area is located in a depression within the original permit area. The northern permit boundary is setback a minimum of 200' from the Indian Creek stream channel. Duration of Activities: The Site is worked intermittently (as needed for various projects or stockpiled for future demand). Final Reclamation Date is December 2029. Access points: A single existing access road from US Highway 93 North is shared with adjoining industrial-use landowners.
