July 30

2:14 a.m.

Public safety

A caller asked to see if a friend had been arrested for driving under the influence. The woman left the caller’s home intoxicated. When asked, the caller refused to give any identifying information about the woman’s vehicle.

8:28 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Bobtail Meadow resident told authorities that there are multiple dogs belonging to multiple families in the neighborhood barking at night.

10:27 a.m.

Public safety

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to mile marker 40 of U.S. Highway 2 for a report of a man walking down the center of the road armed with a knife. When they caught up with the man, they learned his car had broken down and he was headed to the nearest tow company with a gas can. There was no visible knife, deputies reported.

11:18 a.m.

Animal complaint

Libby police officers responded to a local restaurant after receiving a report of two dogs having been left in a pickup truck while the owner was inside eating a meal.

1:12 p.m.

Fire

Emergency responders headed to Power Line Road for a report of a quarter-acre fire.

3:07 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A U.S. Highway 2 resident received a package from China, but did not recall ordering anything.

3:18 p.m.

Disturbance

A caller reported a man sitting in a white sports utility vehicle on Education Way yelling, screaming and threatening. The vehicle was gone by the time authorities arrived on scene.

5:12 p.m.

Fish and game

A deer possibly suffering from chronic wasting disease was spotted near 2nd Street Extension.

5:39 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to mile marker 13 of state Highway 37 for a report of a man claiming to have been stalked by an individual armed with a gun.

5:53 p.m.

Civil complaint

A boat owner trying to get his watercraft out of storage told authorities that they were being refused access to the vehicle.

Disturbance

Assault

Libby police officers responded to a disturbance a West Haschke Street home after a caller reported hearing screaming. Arriving officers separated the individuals involved.

6:59 p.m.

Assault

Libby police officers investigated an alleged assault outside of a local laundry service.

9:20 p.m.

Ambulance

First responders were dispatched to Davis Peak for a report of a four-wheeler rolling over, leaving the driver paralyzed. The patient told arriving medical personnel that they felt fine and declined treatment.

July 31

1:21 a.m.

Disturbance

Authorities handled an inmate in the Lincoln County Detention Center found punching windows.

7:03 a.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Conifer Road after receiving a 911 call reporting a break-in. The caller told authorities that her boyfriend broke in while she was sleeping and went through her belongings. He refused to leave and later put his hands on her neck.

7:53 a.m.

Civil complaint

A Utah Avenue resident told authorities that her ex-boyfriend was required to return her wood to her property by the end of the day. If he does not, the wood will be considered stolen under the terms the two of them agreed to during the break up.

12:16 p.m.

Criminal trespass

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies took a report of several trash pickers near state Highway 508 waiting to go through people’s garbage as it was dropped off.

2:14 p.m.

Fire

First responders headed to Horseshoe Lake for a report of several logs on fire near the boat launch. The fire was brought under control.

3:02 p.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers responded to a local fast food restaurant after a would-be customer began swearing at the employees and spitting on tables. Restaurant staff had requested the woman don a mask upon entering. The woman left before officers arrived.

3:23 p.m.

Non-traffic accident

A motorist driving his pickup truck and camper reported hitting a pothole filled with tar and gravel. Tar ended up on his vehicle and he wanted the repairs to his truck covered.

4:07 p.m.

Theft

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a theft case on Grace Lane.

4:58 p.m.

Traffic violation

Troy police officers arrested Karyl Steele, 44, on charges of driving under the influence.

5:46 p.m.

Traffic stop

A motorist on U.S. Highway 2 was cited for lacking insurance and driving without a valid license.

6:14 p.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities received a report of several dogs left inside a vehicle near U.S. Highway 93.

7:24 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Hartman Lane resident asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy regarding a neighbor who allegedly yelled at and harassed him. Deputies spoke with both individuals involved.

10:02 p.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Authorities found drugs on a man after a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 2.
