Disturbance

Libby police officers responded to Montana Avenue after a resident reported hearing a loud bang followed by voices arguing.

7:20 a.m.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to a disturbance on River Drive.

7:33 a.m.

Sex crime

Authorities investigated a sex crime.

9:18 a.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Authorities investigated a drug case.

10:35 a.m.

Public assistance

Emergency responders took a man to a local medical facility after discovering he had been stuck lying on the floor for three days. An unidentified individual requested a welfare check after a Meals On Wheels volunteer attempted to deliver food the day prior. Authorities discovered the conscious man soon after.

11:18 a.m.

Ambulance call

First responders responded to a report of an unconscious and unresponsive man on a park bench in front of a local park. The individual who alerted authorities to the situation said the man was not breathing. An employee of a nearby business also checked on the man and discovered he was breathing and had been drinking.

Suspicious vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a blue Chevrolet Camaro left parked and unattended at a local gas station.

12:02 p.m.

Theft

Security personnel at a local supermarket reported a theft that took place several days earlier.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated suspicious activity near Pinkham Road.

Fraud

A Kendall Avenue resident asked to speak with law enforcement personnel regarding money getting transferred from her bank account. She reported losing her debit card “a while back.”

Public safety

Authorities in Troy reported that a resident who collects items received a live artillery shell in a shipment.

7:14 p.m.

Public assistance

A resident called 911 to report a tree falling into power lines near Montana Avenue.

10:45 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A Piney Road resident reported that a woman was at their house about 10 a.m., beating on windows and screaming. The caller suspected the woman mistakenly believed their son has her dog. She has sent him Facebook messages for months, the caller told authorities.

July 17

2:17 a.m.

Missing person

An individual called 911 to report a man missing from River View Drive. The man had walked away from the area several hours earlier.

9:18 a.m.

Public assistance

A man called looking for his brother. He told authorities he has not heard from his brother since mid-March. Libby was his last known location. The man described his sibling as a transient who likely was camping. Authorities later located the man.

11:51 a.m.

Criminal mischief

A Waters Edge Lane resident reported that an unknown individual tried to break into their vehicle the night prior and set the alarm off.

1:41 p.m.

Fish and game

A Norman Avenue resident reported finding a juvenile raven lying injured in his backyard. The resident expressed concern because the other ravens apparently were protecting the bird, preventing his dog from going outside. Authorities provided the man with the number for Fish and Game.

3:01 p.m.

Suspicious activity

A caller reported spotting a passenger in another vehicle drinking alcohol near a local financial institution.

Scam

A Snowshoe Road resident reported getting scammed out of about $53,000.
