Troy man arrested after allegedly assaulting two minors at home
A Troy man faces multiple assault charges in Lincoln County District Court after allegedly injuring and then rubbing his crotch on two boys he was wrestling with last month.
Cody Allen Williams, 28, pleaded not guilty to one count of assault on a minor and two counts of sexual assault April 6. He was held on a $20,000 bond.
Authorities arrested Williams on March 18 after the father of one of the victim’s contacted the Troy Police Department. Officer Travis Miller recounted in an affidavit that the man’s son returned home from a sleepover with bruises around his eye and on his neck.
The man alleged that his son had been wrestling with his friend when Williams, who was also at the house, got involved. He alleged that Williams grew angry and began choking his son “until he was almost unconscious.” Then Williams punched him in the eye, the father told Miller.
The man also alleged that Williams held the boys down and rubbed his genitalia — although covered by his pants — on the two minors, Miller wrote.
According to the affidavit, the minor victim corroborated the accusations. The victim added that at one point Williams used his legs to squeeze the boy’s ribs hard enough that it still hurt when he breathes, according to court documents.
Meeting with the other boy, Miller received a similar story. Miller also spoke with that boy’s father, who owned the home where the sleepover occurred. The man told Miller that he and his wife had briefly left the house to go to a convenience store. They left Williams and their other 18-year-old son with the minors.
According to court documents, the man learned about the incident from his younger son after returning. He told Miller his adult son did not witness the incident.
After hearing about the wrestling, the man pulled Williams aside and asked him to leave the house.
Miller conferred with Troy Police Chief Katie Davis and the pair drove to Williams’ residence where they arrested him, court documents said.
Williams is expected back in court for an omnibus hearing on May 18. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing July 6 with a trial slated to being Aug. 11.
