March 24

Unattended death

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an unattended death on Silver Butte Road.

1:36 p.m.

Fish and game

A male reported finding a bald eagle under a tree near Bobtail Road.

6:07 p.m.

Public safety

A caller reported finding debris along U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 56. It looked to the caller as though a vehicle was involved in an accident. Authorities contacted the state Highway Department.

8:45 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported finding a lost dog near mile marker 39 of U.S. Highway 2.

10:50 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers responded to a report of a man and a woman yelling at one another in a vehicle parked near U.S. Highway 2 and Idaho Avenue. The couple later headed toward Firemans Park. Arriving officers located the vehicle at a nearby lodging house.

March 25

7:29 a.m.

Theft

A convenience store clerk alleged a man entered the store wanting to buy beer. After being denied, the man went into the walk-in cooler and started drinking it. He paid for it when confronted by the clerk and left for a nearby set of apartments. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies issued a no trespass for the man.

7:39 a.m.

Public safety

Libby police officers and a Libby Volunteer Ambulance crew responded to a report of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road along U.S. Highway 2.

11:16 a.m.

Theft

A Victory Trail resident reported that a package delivered to her rural mailbox was stolen. The victim told authorities she also had alerted the U.S. Postal Service of the theft.

1:07 p.m.

Disturbance

A Timber Lane resident said their neighbors were creating a disturbance while moving. They come each day, load up their belongings and depart, but are leaving their dogs behind. The dogs have been barking all week long.

Animal complaint

An Avenue B resident reported that a neighbor’s dog keeps getting into their chickens.

Public assistance

Libby police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local apartment complex.

2:13 p.m.

Fish and game

Authorities received a report of a golden eagle found injured on the side of U.S. Highway2 near mile marker 59.

2:29 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Authorities investigated an incident of harassment, threat or intimidation at a supermarket in Troy.

Animal complaint

Authorities received a 911 call regarding a whining dog on Timber Lane.

Animal complaint

Animal control responded to a report of a dog running loose on Montgomery Drive. The dog had come onto the caller’s porch, preventing the individual from getting inside. It is an ongoing problem, the caller said, though the dog’s owner refuses to acknowledge it is happening.

Disturbance

Libby police officers responded to a report of a man yelling and screaming on Neveda Avenue. The caller told authorities he believed the man was trying to provoke him to fight.

Libby police officers responded to a local grocery store after receiving a report of a roughly 50-year-old man speaking loudly and cussing.

7:09 p.m.

Disturbance

Libby police responded to Reese Court after receiving a call for an argument that ended with a man punching a hole in the wall. The individuals involved were separated.
